The Beaches Negril Resort & Spa in Negril is located on a 7-mile beach at Long Bay in Negril. It’s a cozy, medium sized resort, on a truly stunning stretch of white sand beach. Once you’ve decided this is the resort for your next family vacation, your next big choice? Which room. There are so many choices of accommodation at this resort, it can be overwhelming. Set on 20 lush acres, this 186-room resort is made up of more than 10 different room and suite categories including the largest suites that sleep up to twelve with three bedrooms and four full bathrooms.
Whether you choose a smaller garden view room or a decked out beachfront butler suite, you’ll be embraced by their family-friendly hospitality along with casual luxury and warm Caribbean charm that is unique to this Beaches property. Here’s a quick run down of the room choices and the nitty gritty details on our room choice for our latest stay at this resort. Spoiler alert: The suite we were in this year was our hands down favourite for our family of four that included 2 adults and 2 teenage girls.
Here are your current choices for accommodations at Beaches Resort Negril Resort and Spa:
- Caribbean Beachfront Three Bedroom Butler Suite
- Caribbean Beachfront Two Bedroom Butler Suite
- Caribbean Beachfront Concierge Family Suite
- Negril Beachfront Concierge Family Rooms
- Negril Premium Family Rooms
- Caribbean Beachfront One Bedroom Concierge
- Caribbean Beachfront Concierge Suite
- Negril Honeymoon Beachfront Grande Luxe Concierge Room
- Negril Beachfront Grande Luxe
- Negril Honeymoon Luxury
- Negril Premium
- Negril Honeymoon Deluxe
- Negril Deluxe
It may seem like a dizzying number of choices, but your decision can be made by taking into account a number of quite straightforward factors. What you need to consider:
1. Price
2. Location of the room
3. Size
Once you have set your budget, my recommendation would be to do a little reading about the locations of each of these rooms. For our family of four, we prefer quiet nights and a location close to the beach. For us this means the Santa Cruz building is our first choice. Once you have narrowed down your favourite building then you can pick the size of room you really need. Keep in mind at Beaches Negril Resort and Spa there is so much to do you really won’t be spending a lot of time in your room. Perhaps a room with two beds and a pullout, one bathroom is more than enough! Perhaps you are a family that would never use Concierge or Butler service. Sift through the rooms accordingly until you find your perfect match.
I’ve now stayed at Beaches Negril three times in all three buildings and all have their merrits. Some are right in the heart of the resort, closest to the mini-putt and waterpark (The Savannah Blocks). Others offer some astounding views of the ocean, but also place you at the far end of the property forcing you to do a little more exploring and offering the quiet end of the beach (The Montpelier Blocks).
On our last stay we chose to stay in the Caribbean Beachfront Concierge Family Suite. (Santa Cruz Block)
These suites connect two rooms, one of which is a king room with double sofa bed, and the other a room with two double beds. There was a lot of space.
The rooms offer beach and ocean views and can sleep up to eight quite comfortably.
Both marble bathrooms were spacious and well laid out, complete with full tub, shower and double vanity. There was ample closet space and safes for your valuables tucked away inside the closet. Not to be missed, the great views of the sea from the balcony. These suites are located on the first through third floors of the Savannah, Santa Cruz and Montpelier Buildings. Guests who choose this room also enjoy concierge service including assistance with reservations and preferred check-in.
Why we loved this room:
- It offered plenty of space for our family of four to spread out. Travelling with teen girls is great, travelling with teen girls and having the bonus of two bedrooms and two bathrooms is fabulous.
- The room was equipped with a full bar, pop, beer, wine, sparkling wine and juice. All of which was re-stocked daily.
- Tons of closet space.
- The location of the room was close to all restaurant choices as well as the centrally located pools.
- We enjoyed the extra assistance with dinner reservations, the concierge ensuring we had dinner reservations at the restaurant of our choice each evening.
- Our rooms connected to each others and no one else. They were quiet and peaceful.
What we didn’t love:
- The wi-fi was free and included with the room, but not reliable. Best acquired by sitting on the patio.
If you’re booking your next trip to Beaches Negril Resort and Spa and lamenting over which room to choose, remember this; no matter your room choice you have access to all restaurants, pools and activities on site. The gorgeous beach, the fabulous food, the amazing people are all there for you to discover and enjoy. You can do it all or nothing at all. It’s kind of wonderful. Take a deep breath, take it all in and enjoy every second!
Happy Travels!
