*Warning: Super honest post ahead.
After almost 14 years of marriage I feel like I still wield some power. C’mon, I can’t be the only girl out there who is trading IT away.
“Ug. I think I have a headache.” Is commonly heard uttered from my lips. Sometimes it is legit!
Back rub begins. Le Sigh.
“Honey really, “ I lament “I’m sorry I’m just SO tired.”
Then Hubby pulls out the big guns. He offers to let me sleep in the next morning, wash my car, and go grocery shopping. As a last ditch effort he offers to take the kids WITH HIM on his grocery run.
Suddenly I am all kinds of in the mood.
Did I just prostitute myself out for a clean car, a quiet uninterrupted nap and some snacks?
Sheesh. Next time I am holding out for jewellery.

LOL. Nice. And kudos to your hubby for knowing how to get what he wants! 😉

I LOVE this post! So true. I mean, sometimes the allure of things like sleeping in and a clean car can relax us, right? So, we’re suddenly in the mood!! LOL!

You’re not alone. Marriage is about compromise right? Sounds to me like you both got something out of it.
Cool Gal says
Yep, I just did it for some furniture. We are both so predictable! LOL…that’s what being married forever does to a couple! Hahahaha!

Sounds like a fair trade to me!

Nothin’ sexier than a man who cooks, cleans and/or shops with the kids.
Randi Troxell says
hehehe!!!
but ya know what.. it’s their fault that they fall for it and let it work EVERY TIME!!!!!
when i am not in the mood.. i trade it for a NON-SEXUAL back rub.. just me, his strong hands.. and my back… lol
Stephanie Hartman says
Hahaha that was cute!

Haha. I think at one time or another we’ve ALL done this. Sounds like a pretty good trade off to me…and hopefully once things got started you enjoyed yourself a little, so really it’s a win-win!

You’re not alone. I often “ho” myself out to get things done. It’s been working for us for 20 years so I’m not about to change it. However, I will say, that he has to do much bigger tasks in exchange for a little somethin’ somethin’ 🙂 Used to be “ya know, I could really be in the mood if you threw in a load of laundry”; Now it’s more like “sigh,,,,I suppose I could be in the mood if you do 1, 2, 3, & 4 on your honey-do list” LOL…age, it’s a beautiful thing.

Love the honesty. I would have said “After” those items were done, then we would have a deal. Ya know. Just to make sure he kept his promise 🙂
