It has been an adventurous, perhaps even hilarious year. Just when I think I have finally hit a Mommy rut, life throws me a curve ball that keeps me on my toes. From hiring a plumber to fix my kitchen sink…but that idiot choose to knock some fabulous holes in my walls instead, to bringing new meaning to the words “heating it up in the bedroom”, to flashing the lawn boy, my blonde moments may have reached an all time high. Funny thing is, I learned from each experience and wouldn’t change a thing. Errr okay, perhaps I would not have flashed that poor lawnboy!
It’s New Years Eve. Time to make resolutions about the upcoming year, set goals, dream the big dreams. So where do I see this Suburban Mom’s adventures going in the next twelve months? How will I survive, enjoy life to the fullest with the maximum amount of enjoyment and the least amount of embarrassment?
I will not embarrass myself by setting a stupid goal to lose weight. It is not going to happen. I will instead try and embrace who I am, enjoy all that life has to offer in moderation while perhaps doing a little more TV watching from the treadmill vs the couch.
Meanwhile there is so much to look forward to and be thankful for!
My babies will turn 10 and 12 this year! I will try and be the cool Mom, the one they can come to, the one the can count on. I will try and remember that BlueEyes is EXACTLY like me in every way. She is mini-me with brown hair, and I will try and cut that little A-type kid some slack.
I will continue to be amazed and thankful for the people I have met through blogs and on twitter. When I started venting in cyberspace I really had no idea what an incredible experience this would be. Oh and PS…watch out San Diego….ModernMom is hitting the road and going to BlogHer’11 ! Woo Hoo!
I am so excited about other travel plans for the upcoming year! Hubby and I are trying to decide what to do for my, gulp, 40th Birthday. Nothing definite yet, but the planning and dreaming part has got to be almost as great as the vacationing! Imagine a vlog from Paris?
As for not embarrassing myself…well, you know what? I think that may be just who I am. The upside..it does make for some fabulous blog material.
I vow to continue to confess my deepest darkest most embarrassing moments and inner most thoughts. From the revelation that I may be My Hubby’s Hooker, to admitting that there are days I pretty much do NOTHING, to confessing how I and why I supported my girlfriend buying her double D’s. (yes they do feel real) As long as I keep telling you what is going on behind my closed doors, you can all be reassured what is going on in your life is totally normal!
Love you all,
Happy New Year

I love coming over here for a pick into your life – it’s nice to know that there is someone else out there embarrassing herself as much as I do to myself! 😉
I wish much peace, joy and love to your and yours for the coming year!
