Advice needed!! My Romantic Hubby booked us lunch at the top of the Eiffel Tower for my 40th Birthday! I’m sure he didn’t do it for the HUGE points he will forever be able to hold over my head. So now a fabulous dilemma. Do I throw out my rule of always putting fashion before function?
I think this flowered pretty calls for some strappy heels but my stupid brain says with all that walking in Paris I will just look like a dumb tourist. So here is my question for you! What kind of shoe do I do? Is there any kind of cute flat I can wear with this? Oh what a great problem to have!
Mwah!

Black ballet pumps? Definitely go for comfort if you’re going to be walking around a lot. I made the mistake of wearing a pair of uncomfortable heels this past weekend and regretted it! Love the dress.

Go with Dianes advice….its so much fun in Paris…im so excited for you! I have seen a lot of little ballet flats here that you stuff in your bag for later.
Kudos to the hubby! Mine is never that imaginative or thoughtful!!!!

The dress looks fab, as Loukia said a great pair of flats will work and I am all for comfort. Have a great time!

I’m ALWAYS comfort over fashion, so I’d go with really cute and COMFY black ballerina flats. Fab dress, by the way.

I think ballet flats would be perfectly appropriate.

really cute dress. I think you could wear some cute black flats. I definitely go with comfort with all the walking. Bring the heels for dinner if you want.

I can’t think about shoes. I am just thinking about the Eiffel Tower. And I am thinking that I hate you just a little bit right now. I’m sure I will get over it … you lucky lucky lucky girl.
Hell, I’d wear a clown suit (and I’m afraid of clowns) just to see, touch, smell the Eiffel Tower!

Add a cardigan and plain black flats, you’ll fit right in. Save the heels for dinner. I lived in Paris for a short time, here is the rule of thumb: Don’t over-accessorize. Jewelry should be simple, elegant. Hair should be easy, perhaps pulled up in a messy “do”. Scarves are worn by everyone, a really good one doubles as a shawl when it gets chilly.
Most importantly, have a blast!!

What a lovely gift and lovely dress! I think you will be stunning no matter what you choose but I would recommend comfortable but stylish shoes for all those cobblestone streets.:)
Enjoy your planning and I hope you have the most amazing time.:)

What fun!
I don’t own anything except flats. I always go for function over style but I am NOT someone who should ever give fashion advice:)

I am so jealous!! My hubby is surprising me with a trip for my 40th I don’t know where we are going, I hope Paris!!
I would go with the heels just don’t go with stilettos. I lived in Paris in my 20’s and I always felt like Parisians wore heels everywhere! Although I was in Paris last year and I saw alot of cute flat sandals, the trick is to find the cute flat sandals!!

I think you should go buy a pair of Tory Burch Reva flats in black, because they are the world’s most comfortable shoes and they’re super cute and would go so nicely with that lovely dress! And! If you have a purse big enough, you can keep your flats in your purse, and when your feet get hired of heels, swich shoes! I do that! (Heels won’t take up that much space, right? Well, I guess it depends on your purse…) ANYWAY! I am SO EXCITED FOR YOU! Paris for your birthday. Could there be anything more romantic? I think not! You, my dear, look like you’ll be celebrating your 30th, not your 40th! 🙂
