Advice needed!! My Romantic Hubby booked us lunch at the top of the Eiffel Tower for my 40th Birthday! I’m sure he didn’t do it for the HUGE points he will forever be able to hold over my head. So now a fabulous dilemma. Do I throw out my rule of always putting fashion before function?
I think this flowered pretty calls for some strappy heels but my stupid brain says with all that walking in Paris I will just look like a dumb tourist. So here is my question for you! What kind of shoe do I do? Is there any kind of cute flat I can wear with this? Oh what a great problem to have!
Mwah!
Julie says
Absolutely, cute black flats. Ballet slippers. Comfortable yet dressy flip flops. Avoid heels at all costs unless they feel like heaven on your feet!

Oh and you can see my posts about Paris on my blog…the weather was gorgeous.

I BEG OF YOU DON”T DO A STRAPPY HEEL. Your feet will cry tears of blood. I was just in Paris and brought a pair of Keel boots (cute but great support) and a pair of Allegras. Walking on cobble stones, standing in line for hours (we waited for about 1.5 to get in and about 2 to get down) will make your feet and back hurt. Find a balance of form and function…

I’d go flat, oh wait thats my bra size.

Ahh, I love shoes!! Most fun part about putting an outfit together! If you are going to stick with flats, Town Shoes carries so many nice black flats, very trendy. I just bought a pair from there. They are black with little jewels at the front – very fun!
Although, sometimes flats might be worst than heals! If you are still considering a hill, get an extremely low one, they are very fashionable! 🙂
Let us know what you get!
Enjoy!

I think you should go with the strappy heels for the dinner…but I would definitely consider something more comfortable [a cute strappy flat?] for walking around. Paris would SUCK if you got terrible blisters on your feet. So jealous!! Please take lots of photos!

Shoes can make your feet hurt no matter how high the heel – just has to be the right shoe. So find a fabulous one that feels great, break it in a little, and go for it (and if necessary keep a back up pair of flip flops in your bag).

Strappy, flat sandals would work. So would cute ballet flats.
If it was anyone but you going I would be jealous!!!! Have a wonderful time. Can’t wait to see the pictures.

I do not know the answer to your question, except to say, I wish I was married to your husband.

There are some shoes sold here called tipsy feet. They fold into a little bag, you could wear little kitten heel sling backs but if it all gets too much slip into tipsy feet or just go for the black ballet slip ons. Lovely dress xx

You definitely need comfortable flat soles, like a ballet slipper or mary janes – it will look nice and your feet will thank you… heels on cobblestones = tourist disaster!
have FUN!! 🙂

who cares about the shoes when that dress is so cute!

I agree with the first comment…go for a pair of Tory Burch flats. I think flats are super fashionable right now so take advantage. You’re tall so you don’t need the heels:) My husband took me to Paris for my 40th as well. Lucky us!
