We walked out of the grocery store pretty darn proud of ourselves. I may not be a coupon clipper, but I knew a good sale when I saw one, and we had cleaned up. As my girlfriend and I walked to through the parking lot on the way to our car we were all kinds of proud at the money we had just saved our families by stocking up at the grocery stores once a year sale. I never would have predicted grown women would be so excited about a sale on orange juice and frozen pizza!
As we got closer to our parking spot we noticed there was a bit of a crowd near my girlfriend’s car. Wait…not near it, AT my girlfriend’s car. What on earth was going on? An older gentlemen was eager to explain. Almost too eager. Some “sweet little old lady” had just driven full speed, in reverse, into my girlfriends parked mini-van. Then put her vehicle in drive and taken off like a bat out of hell. The left side of girlfriends van looked just fine, the right side, something more like this…

Suddenly a million questions? What kind of a person does that? Did you get her licence plate number? A picture? Do you have car insurance?
There are truly good people out there. These strangers rallied around. Gave us the licence of the crazed driver, plus all of their own information. Even offered to be witnesses.
We heaved heavy sighs and then our heavy bags into the back of the mutilated van. Quick call to the Hubby’s and then off to the Police Reporting centre. Brutal.
Today we are still thankful for fabulous sales, the kindness of strangers and insurance….not so much wild drivers with no moral center or sense of responsibility.

Thank goodness there was not a child standing in the parking lot at that time. Oy.

Ugh. That is the absolute WORST. Some people have NO INTEGRITY. But glad to hear that the people around were kind enough to bare witness for her. Hopefully she’ll get that sorted out soon. And YAY for the great sale! 🙂

That definitely puts a damper on your shopping high. Just remember it’s only a “thing”.

Uhg. Tell your friend I am sorry. I left a note one time when I scratched a guy’s wax job by accident. He tried to “settle” with me once he realized the insurance company wasn’t going to pay him thousands.
(I said no thank you.)

Ah! Thankfully there were witnesses and you were ot treated by a dented car and no explanation at all. I bet the sweet old lady doesn’t have w license, or is raving drunk…
I get so excited for sales! Mostly on shoes, but clothes too.

That’s sad and awesome at the same time. You guys get that old bat! I love it when someone gets what’s coming to them and they deserve it!
