I can’t find any….socks! Are you kidding me. We scoured the house, collected them all, and ended up with a freakin sock mountain. Sigh. Now I just need to sort. Volunteers?
Please, please tell me I am not the only Mama with a sock mountain. Socks should really be disposable.
It’s almost barefoot weather right?

oh my gosh that’s just crazy! LOL!
One trick I read is that every person is responsible for pinning their dirty socks together with a big safety pin before putting in the hamper to be washed. No need to sort anything since the socks stay paired during washing and drying… well of course that’s all in theory 😉

Here’s the thing: My daughter went to a birthday party of a girl from a family of ten. One of the party games was ‘sort the socks’ and the person who’d found the most pairs won a prize. When’s the next birthday in your house?

Really! That’s a lot of socks.

Ha all mine are in matching pairs and balled in in the sock droor! 😛

At least you can find them. I am so sure that there is a monster eating them in our house.
PPS I also buy more socks when I can’t find pairs – or I send the kids to school in odd socks!!

LOL!!! Thank you for posting this! This looks like OUR pile of socks! Hmmm…maybe we’ve got your missing ones?! I’m just relieved that I’m not the only mama that this happens to! THANK YOU!!!
P.S. Secret Mommy Confession: I keep buying more socks because we keep losing them! I swear there must be a great, big, dark, abyss where all missing socks go.

I hate sorting socks. I eventually give up and buy new ones.
Though, my boys live in crocs practically year round, so I don’t have to deal with it as much!

That is definitely a mountain of socks! Wow! I did a bunch of sock sorting today but didn’t end up with that much! 🙂

Luckily both my guys wear plain white socks most of the time. The regular kind for hubby and the ankle length for my son – so it’s not an issue in this house…..except for the fact that at least one seems to be missing out of every load.

I too get disgusted with the mountain and throw the pile out on a regular basis. The boys treat socks like they are disposable, the dog too.

It’s a huge trend here in Vancouver for all the kids to wear 2 different socks on purpose. I say you have socks for years if you can get your kids to buy into this trend:)

I started buying my boys and my husband only one kind and color of sock. (They are boys so could care less, I’m sure if I had a girl that transition wouldn’t have been possible). Sorting takes almost no time and I only have to throw a sock away if it has a hole. It has made my life so much easier!

My advice: buy lots and lots of the EXACT same type of sock. That way you’ll never have to look for it’s “pair” and be left with a mountain of partner-less socks. Every sock will pair with every other sock.

It’s just me and the husband and we create so much laundry. I still have the basket of folded laundry in my room ready to be put away from the weekend. hahah!
