Quesadillas, Burritos, Tacos? These things all need cheese!
Apparently I have been having a love affair with all things dairy, but mostly with all things cheese. A well meaning completely out of his mind chiropractor/ naturopath has decided the key to unlocking a decade of migraines. Just cut out the dairy. I might have a “sensitivity” to it.
A sensitivity to it? Is he out of his freakin mind? I have a long term relationship with it! I love, adore and sometimes swoon over cheese.
Even if I am willing to give up what can only be described as my Cheese’gasms, how on earth will I say goodbye to cookies chased by a cold glass of skim milk, chocolate ice cream, milkshakes, yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, CHOCOLATE! I could, and if I’m telling the truth, did, cry about this insane idea!
Sigh. Pout. Have you ever heard of such a thing?
But then I thought about it, and it makes a mean kind of sense. So, I’m sorry my dearest dairy. You have been my secret lover, well forever, but for now I shall coldly turn my back on you. If this stupid idea is the key to a life without headaches, then I will never see you again. I will be mostly thrilled to be headache free, and go on with my life with just a small side of sad. And if it doesn’t work? This cruel experiment had better at least see me losing a couple of cheese pounds or I will be one very bitter, bitchy bunny.
Wish me and everyone within a 100 yard radius of me luck. I’m gonna need it.

Being the totally selfless being that I am – please feel free to send all your cheese products to me so that you won’t be tempted.
Here’s hoping cheese isn’t the issue though!

Eeeee. That is a bum deal!
I have been vegetarian for about 16 yrs now and eat mostly vegan – other than dairy (namely cheese and yogurt as I love both). The vegan substitutes for these items are horrible.. anyone who tells you other wise is full of it.
Good luck on your journey!

Since we are being honest…. Recently at a party, I dipped baked brie cheese into a spinach dip.
Are you sure about this?

Oh boy, that would mean a life without pizza, and I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do that. I’ve have to allow myself a headache now and then for that.
Secret Mom Thoughts says
Good luck. I love cheese too. My doc wants me to avoid it. My cholesterol isn’t so good.

I literally just finished off two cups of ice cream for breakfast. Better you than me!!

I can not tell you how deeply sorry I am for your loss. A life without cheese is like, well, I don’t know….I can’t even think it. It’s just horrible! I to am a cheese addict. My husband makes a cheeseball to die for and I have been know to snack on said cheeseball on a nightly basis after the kiddos are in bed. When I say nightly, I literally mean every night for a week!
I wish you luck, strength and courage!

I’m not an ice-cream or milk drinking person, but a world without cheese and cream in my coffee? I have done it before, i knew I had some sorta sensitivity and I mistakenly thought it was gluten and one point, and dairy at another. It was eggs. Eggs gone, body happy.
If you plan on eliminating and then adding back dairy, start with goat cheese, it could be just dairy milk?
hoping your actually allergic to broccoli.
Busy Bee Suz says
Cheese would be really hard to give up…but I wonder, if like everything else we can give up (smoking, junk food) perhaps you will feel better in a few weeks???
If only you can survive those few weeks…..
best of luck!

You’re giving up cheese? NO! 🙁
ChiTown Girl says
Holy moly, that’s rough. I think I might have to just deal with the headaches. Come to think of it, I’ve suffered from migraines my whole life, and I’m as much a cheese whore as you are. Hmmmm…..
Yeah, let me know how this all works out for ya. No sense in BOTH of us experimenting. 😉

Good luck. My daughter has a milk protein allergy and I breastfeed. No dairy happening here either. I don’t care for cheese … but I can’t wait till I can have a huge bowl of ice cream.
