Seven days stuffed full of family time. No television, no internet, but nearly perfect weather, and so many laughs. So much to tell you!
For now, a teaser!
It was a full week of cottage country bliss. Thanks to @BuickCanada we made the four and half hour drive in style. I may be developing a bit of a crush on the Enclave. Did you know the Enclave has two sunroofs? All the room of a mini van, all the style of an SUV! Love.
We arrived to this:
A true old style stone cottage with a wicked modern addition. Did I mention is was RIGHT on the lake?
Thanks to my Dad, and his boat, we tore up the water ways. Making a statement on “our” lake, screaming and laughing until our sides hurt. For some of us older out of shape folks we literally tubed until it hurt.
You see, legs are not supposed to stretch that way when you are a dude!!
The younger one’s were much cuter to watch.
We watched movies in the “Boat House”, went for countless walks, and ate way too much food. So much food!
Now it’s back to the real world of bills, phone calls, appointments, laundry and eek almost school!! I will not be overwhelmed, I will not be overwhelmed. I will just lay my head down every night, count my very many blessings, and try desperately to hang on to that completely relaxed, unplugged from the world, oh so good, vacation feeling. Sigh.
Think it’s too early to start the countdown to the next vacation?

I was looking for a picture of some screaming kids tubing, and I just happened upon yours that took place here on our lake. Hope you have returned and will again. Rev. Paul

Hi Paul!
My sister and I practically grew up on Boshkung lake. My parents owned there when we were kids. Now we try and rent on the lake every year. Sadly this year we were unable to find a cottage that met our needs so will be staying on Gull Lake! If you have a cottage that you rent out, or know of one you would like to share, please don’t hesitate to pass it on to me! I’m booking earlier for 2015 🙂
You can always e-mail me at Stephanie at howtosurvivelifeinthesuburbs dot com
And many thanks for your comment!

Looks fantastic! Before kids I dreamed of exotic locales with foreign languages and foreign food. Now my idea of an amazing holiday is exactly this. Peaceful bliss and quality family time!!

We just got back too – beach instead of lake. Your accommodations looks so ultra fabulous. Ours were … not. I didn’t even bother getting pictures.

Looks like you had a blast! Nice cottage. And beautiful girls! I’m assuming they are both yours. The one on (my) right looks just like you!
