In the summertime we spend as much time as possible in the backyard, this of course includes throwing just about everything we can think of onto the trusty BBQ. I love the no fuss, less mess and can’t beat the flavour of an outdoor grill. One of my new loves on the BBQ is Turkey! Yes I said turkey! Haven’t thought of this lean meat on the BBQ before? It is time my friends.
Did you know Butterball Canada offers a wide variety of products beyond the Christmas Turkey?! Turkey franks, turkey smokies and turkey burgers all made with healthy, juicy and tasty lean meat have become a staple in this house.
See, even though it’s summer, meals can still be ridiculously rushed. With baseball, swimming lessons or camps there isn’t always time or desire to prepare a huge meal. What I do want for my family is a healthy meal that everyone will enjoy! Right now my go to turkey fave has to be the Turkey Burger. Low in fat and high in taste it’s a natural choice!
Now I have to admit, I am not the best griller in the world. I’m a tad inconsistent. I have been known to produce some super over cooked chicken and some hockey puck style burgers. (I’m always afraid of under done meat) One of the reasons I adore these Turkey Burgers is they are so simple and practically fool proof! Warm up the grill, throw them on for 6-8 minutes per side and voila! Perfect, moist and yummy dinner ready for your family.
I paired my burgers with some raw veggies, some dip and I was done! I loved my dinner, Hubby ate two, and the kids asked for seconds. Doesn’t get much better then that!
So what are you grilling tonight?

I had some of these turkey burgers at my parents’ place a couple of weeks ago. It really makes me wish I had a gas barbecue. It takes forever to get a fire started with our charcoal barbecue. LOL
