How many sleeps until Christmas? I’m not sure if it’s cute or pathetic that I’m the person in this house that’s asking this question the most often right now! Time is flying by but no matter how quickly the big day is approaching, I know one thing I will always make time for is the traditional Christmas baking with my family.
This year we had the opportunity to step it up a notch when Kraft Canada crashed my kitchen with the fabulous photographer Teddy Chau! Kraft was there to capture all the fun as I took the lead, and together with my SassySister and my BlueEyed Girl, we created some #DessertMoments that are sure to last a lifetime.
My objectives when baking; recipes must be fool proof, easy to complete, fairly quick, pretty and of course if they include chocolate even better! More then the baking itself, I treasure the time with my family. Time to create some delish treats with those you love and as you are about to see, have some fun along the way! Here in the Suburbs, it’s about survival! In my house this means laughter, chocolate and love.
We gathered our Kraft supplies, our wits and were ready to go!
KraftCanada.com has a huge variety of yum to pick from and on this sunny Saturday afternoon we tackled three recipes. I will admit to being a tad nervous about being able to pull off three untested desserts in front of a professional photographer? What had I gotten myself into? Good thing I had my SassySis and Daughter for support. Here is what we choose; Salted Chocolate Covered Caramels, Rocky Ridge Bark, and Peanut Butter Snowballs. And you know what? We rocked it! Yep. Not to brag, but check this out!
Now because I am ridiculously generous I am going to share with you the details on how we created these delicious beauties, and show off some fab pictures along the way!
A key element to all three of these recipes was the melting of the chocolate. (I can so handle this) Immediately the hilarity ensued with a “feats of strength” contest between my SassySis and BlueEyed Girl. Who could break up that Baker’s Chocolate and get it into the pot faster? My daughter of course!
Once your chocolate is melted and smooth you are ready to tackle the rest of any of these recipes.
The Salted Chocolate-Covered Caramels
The incredible, you will be licking the beaters, Peanut Butter Snowballs.
Last but not least, the recipe I have made twice since Saturday, the Rocky Ridge Bark.
Here are all the easy to follow details from the KraftCanada site:
What You Need
2 pkg. (8 squares each) Baker’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
1/2 cup chopped dry-roasted peanuts
4 Oreo Cookies, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup Jet-Puffed Miniature Marshmallows
Make It
COMBINE ingredients.
SPREAD onto parchment- or waxed paper-covered baking sheet.
REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm. Break into 20 pieces.
Kraft Kitchen Tips
S’more Bark: Prepare as directed, substituting 1/2 cup chopped Honey Maid Graham Wafers for the peanuts and chopped cookies.
Make It Special: For a fun gift idea, fill a festive mug with the bark, then wrap in cellophane and tie with a colourful holiday ribbon.
My advice when it comes to baking. Grab a girlfriend or eager to bake daughter to be your partner in crime. Arm yourselves with a counter full of quality ingredients, and check out the Kraft Canada website. I guarantee fabulous results that will wow the family, and if your lucky, you will even create your own special #dessertmoments.
Thanks Kraft Canada and Happy Holidays!
