I just spent more time then I care to admit pouring over my own blog, self involved much reflecting over the changes both IT and I have undergone in the last year. Some for the better, a few for the worse. If I had been given access to a crystal ball I probably would have done a few things differently in 2012, but all in all, it was a very blessed year. Life is what you make it, and every day I’m truly doing my best; for my children, my Husband and even myself. 2012 saw a few mistakes, lots of laughs, many milestones, and we made some memories that will truly last a life time.
I was honoured to work on campaigns that ran the gamete between cutting edge to heart warming! From representing brands at major social media events, to hosting AWESOME movie premieres, to taking tear inducing tours of the Children’s Hospitals, each month brought new challenges. I tackled New York City with my PIC (shout out to my partner in crime!) and partied well, like I have never partied before! Not even back in University did I take in five events in one day and rub elbows with celebs. Almost too much fun!
My family escaped the Suburbs and went to Ottawa, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Grand Bend, Cottage Country and spent two glorious weeks in Florida. I am blessed. (and it’s safe to say I have been bitten by the travel bug in a very big way)
I met gifted, caring and amazing people. I was inspired to forgive, forget and just live in the moment. I’m not saying I have mastered any of those things, but I am trying!
I got to spend countless hours with my girls at their sporting, dancing, and musical recitals. Proud…oh yes, make no doubt about it, this Mama is proud.
I ate too much and did not count a single calorie. Life is too short to count calories!
I cried. For friends hurting, for friends lost, and with just plain pain and heartache. Tears may be a part of life, but from here on out I prefer to cry with joy please.
I hoped, I prayed and I pleaded. I even wished upon a star…and then I decided it was time to get things done.
I have big dreams for 2013. For my blog, for my family and for my friends.
I will not make resolutions, for those are always broken. I will instead list my dreams and try each day to live my best life. (err credit to Oprah?)
I will try and forget the little negative stalker people and strive to one again write from the heart. (PS Yes stalker. I still know every time you log on, even from your fancy phone)
I will forgive not only those who I NEED to forgive, but also myself. No one is perfect, especially not a Mom. (anyone who tells you otherwise is a big fat liar)
I will strive to live in the moment, embracing the joy.
I will plan for travel, for travel makes me happy, and happy is good!
I will say thanks. Thanks to each and every person who loves me for me. Who reads me. Who comments. Who gets it. Who enjoys this particular kind of crazy.
I will hang on tight.
I will look for and fight for the moments that will take my breath away.
I will try to remember to:
~laugh
~appreciate my friends
~be thankful for my health
~play with abandon
~choose with no regret
~and live as if this is all there is.
I have a lot to look forward to….I wish you all a healthy, laughter filled 2013.
Happy New Year.
xoxo
