Things have changed so much since my girls were littles!  Almost makes me think I should have one more babe, almost!  Today I would like to introduce to you, the moonRoom!   

My thoughts:

The MoonRoom by Joovy is so much more fun and stylish than any portable play/sleep place then I ever had an option to try with my babies.  Now, seeing that my girls are just a wee bit too old to properly review this little number, I called upon the services of my SassyNephew.  At just over a year of age he was the perfect little guinea pig to give the Purpleness moonRoom a true test run.  Besides, he is super cute.

My experience:

We carried the moonRoom into the family room, and prepared to set it up.  It didn’t take very long, the most difficult part of the assembly was getting it out of the box!

We received the Purpleness colour to review and I will admit to LOVING it.  Vibrant, bright quality material which was smooth to the touch and very much to my taste.  Good for either a boy or a girl!   Once set up I was surprised at how much room there actually is to either play or sleep.  (SassyNephew was not sleeping today!)

The moonRoom provides a whopping 10 square feet of space allowing ample room for play and that ever important sleep!

Here are the sizing details from the Joovy website:

  • Playard Weight: 27.5 lbs.
  • Playard Min. Age / Max Height: Birth / 35”
  • Playard Dimensions Folded: 11” H x 11” W x 38.5” D
  • Playard Dimensions Assembled: 30” H x 47” W x 47” D

Both my sister and I agreed that this MoonRoom felt more like a quality piece of furniture then your average play yard.  Very sturdy.  I also loved that this play space is truly more like a little room then the usual little rectangle box.

Clearly my SassyNephew loved it, actually jumping up and down and giggling as he explored the MoonRoom from corner to corner.  He jumped, wiggled and danced and the MoonRoom held steady!  He ran his hands all along the sides, and his face along the smooth mesh windows.  Why do little one’s love to do that?  So cute.

This product is clearly SassyNephew approved!

When it came time to pack up, we found the moonRoom to be easy to fold down.  I recall quite clearly fighting to the point of sweating with my old “play pen”.  SassySis has had similar experiences.  With the moonRoom you simply lift up the Velcro strap at the bottom, push each button along the side bars in succession, then fold and place in the provided travel case.  Folded up and packed away, the moonRoom weighs in at about 27 lbs, but has a very sturdy and padded handle to help make transport easier.
