This week I had an extraordinary experience; the opportunity to be the Fashion Correspondent for Tide as we took over their twitter account at the PINK TARTAN Fashion Show in Toronto Ontario. To be honest, I really didn’t know what to expect. I knew I adored the Pink Tartan line, I love all things Fashion and twitter, but beyond that, this was all new territory for me. Let me tell you, this was a very good night!
I arrived in downtown Toronto and checked into the swanky Hotel Le Germain on Mercer. It was perfect. Doormen greeted me and ushered me into the sleek and quiet lobby. I was quickly checked in, and walking the plush hallway to my room. Number 408 was all ambient lighting, jazz filled air and a pretty little parcel just waiting to be opened! The gift tag read with thanks from the team at P&G and Pink Tartan. Squee!
I have to admit I tore into that beautiful bag like a kid at Christmas, You see inside was a piece for me to wear to that night’s Fashion show. I made quick work of the perfect wrapping, and quickly tried on what was waiting inside, a most fabulous dress. I might have jumped up and down and even twirled a little. It fit perfectly!
This little number can be found at the Pink Tartan flagship store in Toronto, on-line, and at many The Bay locations across Canada. I have to admit, not only did it fit like a dream, this beautiful designer dress was comfortable and is washable!
After my presto chango and some hair and make-up touch-ups it was on to dinner at The Ritz. Both the restaurant and the city of Toronto were buzzing in a very different way tonight. I spotted Lamborghini’s and Limo’s with drivers circling the block, Paparazzi on the hunt for the perfect shot, and yes, even some celebs ambling around! The feeling in the air was positively electric!
Finally it was time for the big event! The hour where I was handed over the reins of the @Tide account and became the correspondent on all that was happening behind the scenes. My dinner companion’s and I hurried to the venue, the tent at David Pecaut Square, and met with some beautiful P&G Moms, all of us truly excited to be taking in the Pink Tartan show.
With our coveted tickets in hand, we made our way down the runway and to our seats, each seat lovingly adorned with gift bags stuffed full of Tide products. The pace at this point was hectic. There is a mere 15 minutes between Fashion Shows and you have got to move it to get to your assigned seats or risk losing them! I’m thrilled to be able to see I had front row seats! They were truly goose bump worthy! I had to pinch myself as I realized I was sitting along side true celebrities.
Suddenly, the lights lowered, the music thumped and the models took to the runway. One after another they came out showing off the truly stunning pieces, including these washable stunners.
Fifteen minutes of these gorgeous and timeless pieces with a flirty feel, and the show was over, It was all flashes of beauty and grace, and I was now thoroughly in love with all things fashion show. Far too soon, Kim Newport Mimran came out for her final bow.
Myself and the other P&G Moms were invited to dash backstage for a quick meet and greet with the designer herself, Kim Newport Mimran. She was warm, welcoming and even accommodated questions amid the frenzy of her post runway show. Kim clearly has Mom’s in mind when she designs her washable collection. She knows we are busy, want quality pieces that will wear well, and clean up in a hurry. She has created a line that appeals to fashion forward women on the go. Quality nor style is ever sacrificed, and each and every piece is stunning all on it’s own.
Following our meet and greet we dashed to the rain to our waiting cars and headed to 77 Yorkville, Pink Tartan’s flagship store, for the after party! Cocktails, clothing and smiles all around as Kim mingled with the crowd congratulating her on her gorgeous new Spring Line. Such a gracious hostess. I also have to mention I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Joe Fresh. Equally as warm and charming!
This was one of those nights I will never forget. An opportunity for a behind the scenes peek of a Fashion Show and the chance to interview a designer I admire. Pink Tartan with it’s washable wear collection is one every modern day woman should watch out for.
