I am a sun seeker. Do you know what a sun seeker needs, besides the sun of course? A beautiful place to play with her kids and soak up those rays! Azul Beach Resort by Karisma delivers this tenfold! This may be a boutique style resort, but it is spread out in such a way as to take advantage of their beachfront, and allow for the placement of numerous fabulous pools!
My passion lies with the beach so we will head there first. Soft white sand with sporadic beach beds cover the length of Azul Beach.
There are plenty of beach chairs, and not once did we feel like we had to get up early and “save” seats or fight to find somewhere to sit. A refreshing change from experiences past. The sand was white and fun to dig in, and the Azul staff worked diligently to clear away sea grass that is clearly a problem during the rainy season.
On our third day at Azul Beach we opted to reserve a Beach Bed. It’s an easy process. Go to the activity centre on the beach at about 3pm and sign up for a bed the following day. No fee. Perfect and SO much fun.
The sun is so hot in Mexico, even for me, that it is a bit of relief to have somewhere to have a little shade, not to mention make you feel ridiculously spoiled! We laid in our bed reading books, chatting, deciding between volleyball or swimming, and generally feeling like royalty. Being served any drink we desired by the ever-present beach servers, and even grabbing lunch from The Energy Bar to eat in our Beach Bed! How indulgent!
Days not spent on the beach were divided up among the many pools!
The beach bar pool.
The Children’s Pool. Very shallow and loads of fun to play in!
The Pool nearest our villa. This one felt almost private! Except on Football Sunday when the sports fans were out in droves to watch the game and toss a Frisbee around. For me, the Frisbee throwing was just a lame attempt to get a little exercise and burn off some of those Mud Slides, Bahama Mamas, and Miami Vices! Yum!
Passing between the villas by numerous bridges and pathways led to the second swim up pool bar, divided up into essentially three separate pools.
One pool we did not play in, was the adults only pool, located beachfront!
Whether you crave the pool or the beach, there was a perfect spot for everyone.
Full confession. A week was barely long enough to try them all!
