Back to life, back to reality! The new school year is here and it has hit hard! The early morning rush. The after school melt downs. Cramming activities in after dinner and still finding time for homework? Somewhere in there it would be nice to squeeze in some family time, dare I say it, even some me time? The only way to survive this back to school thing is to get back into a routine!
As a Mama to two girls I know it’s important to not only have backpacks, lunch bags and school clothes organized for these busy back to school days, but it’s also important to teach my girls to look after themselves! Here are a few of my tips for staying on track and getting back into routine!
Back To School Tips For Surviving The School Year
1. Go to bed! Yup. I have a teenager and a tween, but they still need to get some sleep! After all, beauty rest is always in style.
2. Eat well. They may not “have time” for the big healthy breakfast I wish they would eat. This doesn’t mean they can’t grab a quick bowl of oatmeal topped with some fruit and pack a decent lunch.
3. Plan for success with time management. Sometimes it feels like we live and die by the calendar in this house. It’s how we survive! Who’s driving to cheer, which girl has volleyball tonight? How late does dance go? Learning to schedule homework, time for friends and even some down time, is essential. You have to plan to succeed.
4. Be organized. Prepare the night before anything you can to make your tomorrow easier! Pack those bags, have your clothes ready the night before, and know what lays ahead.
5. Take care of you, by taking care of your skin. This year, we got a little help from Olay, COVERGIRL and Secret! By establishing an easy morning routine with gentle skin care products that I trust, not only do I know my girls are taking good care of their skin, but I know they are putting their best face forward as they venture out into the world every day.
Insider Tip: There are a couple of product junkies living in this house. The girls are partial to Fresh Effects {Dew Over!} Hydrating Gel Moisturizer , COVERGIRL Ready, Set Gorgeous Concealer for any imperfections, and COVERGIRL Clump Crusher Mascara just for fun.
For me? I am down right addicted to anything that will help banish dark under-eye circles. With COVERGIRL + Olay The De-Puffer Eye Concealer you will look well-rested and ready to tackle the day – even if you don’t always feel that way!
Life is too short to worry about little imperfections and dark under eye circles. For myself, I’m thankful to be a girl and thankful for the power of make-up! For my girls I love the chance to teach them how to protect their naturally glowing and gorgeous skin. Not only did I get to test out these fabulous products with my girls, but now I get to share this entire package with one lucky reader of How To Survive Life In The Suburbs! It’s a giveaway! Woot!
