This week I had a revelation. (and it wasn’t a good one) I don’t remember the last time I have gone a week, a day, an afternoon or even an hour without “being on”. Working the cell phone, answering e-mails, tweeting, blogging, facebooking…always and forever working. You won’t catch me complaining about the work, I know I’m blessed and actually love every minute of it, but it’s official, this Mama needs some down time. Time to re-charge, re-fuel and connect with my real life people!
So it’s time to take some “me time”, shut it down, even for just a couple of days! These are big steps for this social media addict! I’m making time for cookies and hot chocolate. Looking forward to classic movies and popcorn. Planning on some binge shopping with my teens, and a date night with SassyHubby.
I will return with more tales from How To Survive Life In The Suburbs in the New Year!! Until then I wish you all the Happiest of Holidays, a Christmas stuffed full of joy, peace, laughter, and of course chocolate.
Take care of each other, and I will see you in 2015!
XOXO

We all need to resolve to take a little well-deserved break like this throughout the year, eh? xoxo

I totally understand this. I actually had to force myself to shut off this year too by booking a cruise and leaving the country for a bit with my family. Best New Year’s ever. It worked out well because wifi is crappy at sea. No temptations there. Hope you had a restful holiday!

We definitely need to socialize less with our tech toys and spend more time with family face to face. Life is too short and unfortunately social media is ruining our lives

I’m constantly glued to all my devices too, but I’ve been trying to spend a few hours a day with all my electronics off and just curl up in bed with a good book until I possibly give in an take a nap 😉
Hope you’ve been having some wonderful family time- happy new year!
