Earlier this month I escaped the suburbs, left the kids and the SassyHubby at home, and headed into Toronto for a girls night! Meeting the girls in the city, always a good idea. Our destination, the InterContinental Hotel Toronto Yorkville. Located in the very fashionable Yorkville area, this boutique style hotel is nestled in close to lots of shopping and right across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum. A perfect getaway from the everyday, a great place to re-charge, connect with friends and dare I admit it, sleep like a baby.
When arriving at the InterContinental after an exceptionally hectic afternoon, I found the lobby to be comforting and inviting. Oversized leather chairs, and a softly lit entry accented by a beautiful chandelier. There was a subtle class about the lobby that made it welcoming to all.
The staff were genuine, interested, caring and concerned. From offering to assist with my luggage, yes even one night away requires luggage! To explaining that the InterContinental Hotel offers the world’s first and largest hotel loyalty program. All questions were answered with just enough detail. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the InterContinental Hotel is the first and only hotel to offer free internet/Wi Fi, globally, to all it’s loyalty program members. I travel a lot. I travel for work, I travel for pleasure, and often with my daughters Cheer Team and Dance Teams, and rely on that Wifi everywhere I go. Free Wifi is brilliant and becoming a a member of the loyalty program is easy. InterContinental Hotel Group, or IHG, includes nine hotel brands; InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo®, Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn® Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Express®, Staybridge Suites®, Candlewood Suites®, EVEN™ Hotels and HUALUXE® Hotels and Resorts, so it only makes sense to look for the brand and be an IHG member! With a little research I found out IHG has franchises, leases, manages or owns over 4,700 hotels and 697,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries. They also have almost 1,200 hotels in its development pipeline! You can always find what you are looking for with IHG!
Warmly welcomed and quickly checked in a realization; these rooms, they never fail to disappoint. A little chic, a little sassy, I adored the contemporary feel complete with work station, plush linens and fantastic city view.
Confession; I was tempted to just stay in my room and soak in the city from above!
The true comfort of this hotel lies in the little extras. First, the staff. Everyone from the Concierge, to the Managers to the Maids, go out of their way to greet you, open a door, and are always on hand to assist. Ensuring you have the best possible stay. They are among the most dedicated and involved personnel I have ever seen at a hotel or resort and the joy they take in their jobs shines through in all they do. The little touches they provide all throughout your stay make your room feel like home, creatig a big differences in the quality of your stay. Little bath amenities tucked into your bathroom, a Keurig under the desk, high-speed internet and a place to plug in your laptop, spotless luxury Italian linen, pillow top beds, spacious 4 fixture marble bath, plush bathrobes, CD alarm, iPod docking station, individual climate control, and in room movies. Fabulous.
After a sweet day catching up with Girlfriends and a scrumptious dinner at the award winning Signatures Restaurant, I tucked into bed and enjoyed a cozy and peaceful nights sleep.
The next day had me saying goodbye to the girls, but not until we vowed to return soon to an InterContential Hotel, maybe next time, we’d let the kids come along! To find more information on InterContinental Hotels or learn more about IHG Rewards Club by following them on twitter, Facebook or Youtube. I can’t wait to hear about your next getaway!
