I recently had reason to stay in Milton, Ontario. My youngest daughter and I were in town for a dance competition and choose to stay at the Best Western Plus. Many dancers from the competition were staying there, we’ve stayed at a Best Western before, and this hotel was offering two queen size beds offered a heated indoor pool, and included parking all at a fairly competitive rate.
The Best Western Plus in Milton is located at 161 Chisholm Dr, Milton, ON L9T 4A6, Canada. It has a restaurant on site, and offers complimentary wifi. Although it seemed like a good choice, our stay was less than satisfactory.
Upon check -in we were told the pool was out of order and staff didn’t know how long it would be before it would be up and running again. These things happen, but it was disappointing as it was one of the reasons we choose this hotel.
The first room we checked into reeked of cigarette smoke and a strong musty odour. The wall paper was peeling off the walls in numerous places and I don’t believe the bathroom tub had been cleaned. I returned to the front desk, quietly explained my disappointment with my room, and requested a room change. I was met with no apology, no offer to help move my bags, but was given a new room. The second room still had a very strong musty smell and additionally had a broken lamp shade and a dripping fridge. I can admit I generally book into luxury hotels, but even at a three star hotel this is not acceptable. Back to the front desk. If not for the fact that at this point it was very late at night I would have changed hotels entirely. Taking a new tactic, I requested a room upgrade or a room in the “newer renovated” part of the hotel.
My daughter and I were then put on the first floor in a room with one Queen Size bed and a pull out couch. Although not ideal with just one bed, this room was much better than the first two. Clean, quiet and with a clean working mini-fridge and updated more recently renovated bathroom. It would do.
Although this Best Western Plus was ideally located close to our dance venue and within close proximity to restaurants and fabulous shopping, I will not be returning to this particular hotel nor can I recommend it to future travellers. I don’t feel this particular hotel is a good representation of the Best Western brand.

I think. A lot of them are like that now, I never stay at them anymore, we had blood droplets on our wall one time.

That sounds really unpleasant. I wouldn’t go back either!
