For as long as I can remember I’ve been a planner.
I adore plans.
I need things to look forward to.
A well organized wall calendar rocks my world.
Post it notes rule.
There’s nothing better than a brand new agenda. You can fill it up with all your dreams for the year, your “must do’s” the Family Birthdays and most importantly the holidays.
I get excited about the first day of school. Not because my kids are out of the house for a few hours, but because it means I get my hands on a new school calendar.
I’m a girl who like’s to know what lies ahead, to dream about it, plan for it and if necessary make it happen.
Looking through old photos today a thought occured to me, do my pictures also show my obsession, my unrelenting need to know what lies ahead? My camera is filled with pictures of pathways to the beach, walkways to the water and the longest of docks. Those pictures bring me more comfort and joy than I should probably admit to. I don’t want to miss out on the joy of the journey so I find myself wondering, …..can you be addicted to always looking ahead?

When I’m at home I like to plan things out but on vacation I plan a couple things and wing the rest. Your pictures are awesome !

I’m the last person you want planning things…so disorganized and love to procrastinate 😛 yet I’m the one planning for our upcoming Montreal trip… well it’s going to be fun 😉

I don’t think that is a problem 🙂 I’m a planner too! However, just have to make sure you are aware things don’t turn out how you would like it to go and just go with the flow. Otherwise, you will just dwell on the bad things vs enjoying the good.

I don’t think it’s a bad addiction as long as you remember to enjoy the here and now too 🙂

That is pretty cool how you’ve subconciously taken photos which represent looking ahead! And though I do look to the future, I tend to draw on the past a lot, which isn’t the best way to go about life. Forget future, forget past, we’re supposed live in the moment.

I like making lists, but am pretty good with spur of the moment too.
I think it’s interesting that you noticed about the paths.

I ♥️this post! I too love a new calendar and always have a list. Sadly, not enough paths in my world. You’ve been on some pretty fabulous paths Steph and I’m looking forward to following you down some more!

there’s nothing more frightful than a wall calendar that hasn’t been marked up with notes and scribbles and exclaimation marks

I would say that it is a good thing to be addicted too!

That’s a very interesting observation! You know we cancelled our plans for our annual trip this year to take a different trip to the beach. That trip still hasn’t happened and I found my summer was so boring. A dear friend told me that I missed out on the anticipation of the trip, the trip itself and the photos/stories that follow.
