Cereal, bagels, toast, fruit, oatmeal. If I’m lucky I can get my girls to eat a little something before they dash off to school in the morning, but truthfully, this doesn’t always happen. Quite often one of those kids is still munching on an apple or some sort of granola bar as they run out the door… and I was calling this “winning”. Then Hamilton Beach sent me their Breakfast Wrap Maker because they KNOW breakfast, and you know what?
Breakfast just got interesting!
I unboxed my new little appliance and got to work. A quick look in the fridge revealed I already had everything I could possibly need. After a very easy set up, I created my very first masterpiece. A little egg slightly scrambled with some milk, a pinch of salt, some fresh veggies, shredded cheese and voila.
The first of MANY sassy and HOT breakfast wraps was born.
The pictures can’t begin to do my masterpiece justice. My egg was perfectly cooked, hot and fluffy, and the tortilla shell just the perfect amount of toasted. I folded up my shell and it was devoured by the small crowd that was suddenly growing in my kitchen. Perfect for on the go, or to be fancied up on a plate. Every member of my family was anxious to try the new magic machine. Bonus: This one is teen friendly; easy for everyone in our house to use.
I had been a sceptic, I thought I didn’t need a new fancy small appliance in my kitchen. I’m here to tell you …I was wrong.
A fluffy, hot and nutritious breakfast can now be created in a couple of simple steps. In the time it takes you to brew a pot of coffee you can have your hot breakfast ready and waiting for you on the table. This wee appliance is going to see a lot of action in our house. Especially now that the SassyHubby has figured out he has an excuse to add a side of hot salsa to his breakfast! Yummo.
What I loved:
- It’s quick! Breakfast can be ready in about 5 minutes. Insider Tip: Prep some veggies and shredded cheese ahead of time to speed up that morning meal!
- Easy to use. My daughters can use this with no problem at all. I recommend oven mitts as there are hot moving parts.
- You can use the freshest of ingredients and customize your breakfast wrap to your liking
- Versatile: easily create burritos, omelettes, stuffed pancakes & crepes or even personal sized pizzas
- The best part, you can customize your breakfast wrap or sandwich and make it just the way you like it! I prefer a tortilla shell, egg white only, shredded cheddar cheese, red peppers and a pinch of onion and garlic for a bit of a kick. My girls want it even faster and simpler. The wrap, one egg and a cheese slice and they are done. Hubby goes big or goes home; on his wrap he throws in whatever he can find in the fridge! His favourite recipe so far? Tortilla shell, egg, double cheese, and loads of ham leftover from Thanksgiving dinner. I have to admit, it was oey goey delicious!

My favorite kind of breakfast wrap has egg, spinach and feta cheese. Lots of yummy protein to fuel the busy mornings!
