Another Halloween has come and gone, and with each passing year the “holiday” morphs into something a little different for me. Way back in the day it was all costumes and parties, us University roomies looking as cute as possible, and hitting up the right parties. (and can I just say a big hallelujah there was no twitter, Facebook or Instagram back in the day!) Once I got married it was about throwing the ultimate house parties, costumes always required. When the babies arrived, Halloween took a dramatically different turn. It was now about those little pumpkins, the cuteness overload and the joy in their eyes as they figured out Trick or Treating meant fantasy and candy.
The sweetness of Halloween? That’s my favourite part.
Now my “babies” have entered a new stage again.
No more trick or treating for them, it’s now the era of horror flicks and house parties. I’m not sure I’m ready.
No way should pretty girls look this scary!
So today as I reflect back on the silliness that is Halloween, with it’s crazy traditions of bad pumpkin carving and last minute costume changes, what I’m really thankful for are the moments of pure joy, the opportunity to embrace the crazy and make some memories, and of course as always…. the excuse to snap one more family picture.
Hope you all had a healthy, happy and not haunted Halloween!

Great photos, your family is beautiful I also like the innocence of Halloween and seeing the sweet costumes. My oldest is now in the more gory phase but he’s still has fun, that’s what matters

Halloween is my favorite time of year! I love decorating, seeing kids excitement when they get to pretend to be their favourite character, the parties, makeup! I love it all. I might be too into Halloween, lol.
Love the girls costumes!

Love it!
I think the scary girls are not too scary, but yeah, I love the sweetness of Halloween much more than the scary.
I make no bones about it. 😉
Sweet post!

I’m guilty of NOT missing Halloween from back when the kiddos were small. I always found it to be exhausting….I know, I’m a pickle.
I really love the girls ‘semi scary’ costumes; they pulled it off perfectly!

I really love Halloween for the little ones – it’s so much fun to see them dressed up and how excited they are to go out! I always feel silly dressing up myself – but I like seeing how creative people get

I’m not a fan of Halloween, only of the little darlings in their sweet costumes 🙂
