We caught one of the very last flights into New York City that night. The planes arriving after us? Diverted to other airports or grounded due to the wild winds and unsafe conditions. The pilot must have white knuckled that landing and he was rewarded by uproarious applause as we cruised safely into Laguardia Airport. As we emerged from the airport, we realized how blessed we were to be safe and sound on the bustling streets of New York City amid the honking cabs and pushy people. The winds were wild, the torrential rain beating down on the city.
One steamy cab ride later and we arrived safely at our destination; The Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue, in the heart of Manhattan.
After a warm and quick check in, we were ushered to the quiet of the 19th floor. My Husband and I opened the door to our Family One Bedroom Suite and were immediately enveloped in it’s space, modern aesthetics and it’s serenity. A gorgeous home away from home for the weekend. We put down our dripping bags, and went off to explore our expansive 1000 square foot hotel suite.
The spacious accomodations were equipped with a King bed in the master bedroom and a Queen sleeper sofa in the living area.
Our Master bedroom featured an oversized closet, safe, comfortable Swedish Duxiana beds and indulgent Italian Pratesi linens.
The star of the suite, the floor to ceiling windows throughout, with breath taking views of the Manhattan skyline.
Every day and night, the Empire State Building was forever putting on a show.
The suite was complete with private laundry facilities neatly tucked into a closet, a modern galley style kitchen with Miele appliances, and two bathrooms. Yes, two bathrooms, in a hotel in Manhattan.
The Master bathroom had clean classic lines, was large, featured marble countertops a double vanity, a deep soaking tub, and separate rainfall shower.
The mirror which ran the length of the master bath, was equipped with a built in television so you wouldn’t miss a thing as you prepped for your evening or day out on the town.
When you’re ready to head out and explore all that New York City has to offer, the Langham Place on Fifth Avenue is the ideal location. Between Bryant Park and the Empire State Building it’s walking distance to world class shopping and attractions. A short stroll to Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Radio City Music Hall, New York Public Library and a bit of a longer meander to Times Square and Central Park.
Upon returning from your exploration of the city, you must indulge in room service, at least once. It is divine. Looking to get out? There are two distinct dining options at the Langham Place. Measure; featuring luxury comfort fare and Ai Fiori a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant that celebrates the French and Italian Riviera.
The suite at the Langham Place was everything we could have hoped for. Modern luxury, contemporary style, and an ideal location for exploring all that New York City has to offer. But what really sets The Langham Place New York on Fifth apart is the service. The personalized greetings and genuine care and concern shown for guests. The little touches to make your stay special. Flowers in your room and accompanying room service. A coffee and biscotti set up “to go”, to get your day off to a perfect start. Sweets and treats in the lobby each afternoon. The mini bar re-stocked daily with complimentary sodas and bottles of water. A house car, a beautiful Maserati and a driver, available to drop you off at locations around the city. Turn down service including jazz music, mood lighting and cookies left bedside. Warm smiles, opened doors, and greeting by name. Memories were made at the Langham Place.
In short, the suite was perfection, the service wonderful and the location grand. If you are looking for a little serenity in the city, look no further than the Langham Place on Fifth.
