It’s cold. It’s dark when your kids leave for school in the morning and the sky is black again before dinner. The wind howls at the windows at night, and the 3 foot piles of snow on either side of your driveway is making it feel as if the winter will never end. So what’s a girl to do? Plan a vacation to head south of course!
One of my favourite places in the world to vacation? Florida. It’s safe, welcoming and bursting with palm trees, sunshine and activities. Down in the world of Disney you choose to keep busy from sun up to sun down, or float in the pools all day long. There are world class restaurants, kayaking adventures, hot air ballon rides, ahh-mazing shopping and of course Mickey Mouse.
When planning a trip to Florida you have to take care of the big three; the flight, your car and accommodation. Once your flights and car have been arranged it’s time to figure out where to stay. One option to give real consideration; a rental home. Imagine your family spread out in a 5 bedroom, 5 bath home complete with it’s own full size kitchen, laundry room, pool and even hot tub. Yup. All possible when renting a vacation home in Kissimmee.
Allow me to introduce you to Global Resort Homes. A property management company based out of Kissimmee Florida that specializes in communities in and around the Walt Disney World area. With accommodations ranging from 2 bedroom condos to luxury 7 bedroom homes there truly is something to fit everyone’s lifestyle and budget. The best part, when you rent with Global you know you are guaranteed the backing of a professional team, they are there for you should you ever require assistance during your stay. Global Resort Homes is a trusted management company. The assurance that you have access to on site personnel that can help you with any of your needs throughout your Florida stay. Global has been in business since 1993 and is one of the leading and most respected Orlando property management companies in Central Florida. Here are my top five reasons you need to consider renting a vacation homes for your next Vacation;
1. Space. A hotel room might be fun for a few nights, but with a couple of teen girls in our family there is nothing better then each child having their very own room!! With a Global Resort Home a multi-family or multigenerational trip is a breeze. Imagine sharing a seven bedroom house with your sister and her family. Even add in the Grandparents. Not only do you get to share the space and the memories, but you also get to share the cost!
2. Budget Friendly. Rental rates of course vary from house to house; but we did a little digging. You can rent a 5 bedroom 5 bathroom house in the Windsor Hills community, 7 minutes from Disney right now, for only $340.00 per night. Share this cost with a family? That’s only $170.00 per night. Add in the Grandparents and you are talking about a $85.00 per night for something that looks like this!
3. Privacy. Can I put private house, private bathrooms, extra space to spread out and and private POOL and HOT TUB here! Woot! There is something kind of magical about putting the little one’s to bed, cranking up the hot tub and relaxing with a very cold glass of wine, staring at the stars and taking a quiet moment to truly catch up. Sigh.
This picture, courtesy of Global, shows a pool and back yard oasis of a rental home in the area of Solterra. Gorgeous!
4. A full sized kitchen. You may not think having a kitchen on your vacation is required, but it can be a lifesaver! I adore eating out, but there really only so many restaurant and take out meals a girls thighs (or stomach) can take! What’s better then to be able to whip up a quick and nutritious meal for your family. It’s great for you, great for them, and even better for the pocketbook. The bonus; you can save a ton of money on vacation by eating breakfast “at home” before heading out on your daily adventure.
5. Bonus Amenities. Don’t hate me but one of the best things about having an entire home at your disposal vs. a wee hotel room is a laundry room!! When my girls were smaller, one load of laundry mid way through the week meant I only had to pack half the amount of clothing. It’s great to know you can wash, refresh or if you choose just go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes. Can you imagine getting home with a suitcase full of clean clothes instead of dirty? Love.
*Still not convinced; many of the rental homes will also include free Wifi, amazing bonus spaces or theatre rooms, are in areas with large community parks and pools, and can be outfitted with a private BBQ. BBQ’ing in the Florida sunshine while your kiddos splash in your private pool? Priceless.
There’s no doubt about it, when planing that next trip to Florida there are thousands of ways to play and stay. Your perfect stay for that next trip may just be in a vacation rental home.

When we went to Florida we did a house rental. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The convenience and space was amazing. The kids could go to sleep and we could still enjoy ourselves without being cooped up in a hotel room.
Elizabeth Matthiesen says
I love the look of those rental homes, wonderful and luxurious. That’s a great idea for anyone going to visit Disney. 🙂

Hubby and I always said that when we go to Disney, we’re going to rent a house! My sister-in-law did it with her family and they loved it! They actually rent a few close by since it was a family reunion. Can’t beat the cost of them!

As a family of six, it can be hard to find hotel accommodation. A vacation home sounds like the perfect alternative for us.
Kimberly B says
I think this is the way I would go as well. I would prefer a home over a hotel room any day.
Florence C says
If I get the opportunity this is the way I will do it. I have some in-laws who do this almost every year.
Melinda Jana says
You are so onto something Stephanie. After a long day of enjoying Disney and the beach, coming back to a place that reminds you of home is just what most people need
Stephanie says
Sometimes the extra space, area to BBQ, cook, or even an office area to do some work is just the ticket!

This is so funny. my manager was just talking about this last week as she would like to plan a trip for her family for next year I believe. So she was looking around at her options and wondering if she should rent a house or stay in a hotel right at Disney. i will send her this
Stephanie says
So happy to hear my timing is just right! Please do let me know if I can answer any questions for either of you. 🙂
Liz says
Is it wrong that I’m crushing on that kitchen? It’s nicer than the one I have at home!
Will have to check this out.
Stephanie says
HAHA Not odd at all. The kitchen in this home, and most we have stayed at, are nicer then ours at home too. Bigger, brighter and more modern. A pleasure to hang out in!
Suzie M says
We just came home from this type of accommodation in Orlando, will never do a resort again, this was perfect
Stephanie says
So happy to hear you had a great experience. Odd confession from me? I even like grocery shopping in Florida! It’s fun to see the products they have the we don’t!
Chandra O'Connor says
The pool and hot tub are fabulous I’d actually would hang out there.
Stephanie says
I love the hot tub, but not as much as my SassyHubby. He’s in it every chance he gets!
margo b says
I love the pool so gorgeous , love the home and the kitchen too
Stephanie says
There’s something to be said for your own heated pool (that a company cleans for you!) while on vacation!
Judy Cowan says
We are planning on renting a home the next time we go to Disney, will have to check out Global Homes.
Stephanie says
Oh you will adore Global! Let me know if you have any questions at all, I’d love to help!
Chandra O'Connor says
Holy moly that really is a great deal when traveling with a bunch of people, huge kitchen.
Stephanie says
I’ve become very good at justifying just one more vacation thanks to the beauty of the vacation rental. When you split it with family or friends, cook a few meals “at home” (which you would be doing back in Canada anyway) it seems silly NOT to go! LOL
Chandra O'Connor says
Good excuse when dollar is so low too, you cook your own meals. Win win
Omid says
it is by far the best way to travel to disney
Stephanie says
It’s a great way to vacation!
