It’s cold. It’s dark when your kids leave for school in the morning and the sky is black again before dinner. The wind howls at the windows at night, and the 3 foot piles of snow on either side of your driveway is making it feel as if the winter will never end. So what’s a girl to do? Plan a vacation to head south of course!
One of my favourite places in the world to vacation? Florida. It’s safe, welcoming and bursting with palm trees, sunshine and activities. Down in the world of Disney you choose to keep busy from sun up to sun down, or float in the pools all day long. There are world class restaurants, kayaking adventures, hot air ballon rides, ahh-mazing shopping and of course Mickey Mouse.
When planning a trip to Florida you have to take care of the big three; the flight, your car and accommodation. Once your flights and car have been arranged it’s time to figure out where to stay. One option to give real consideration; a rental home. Imagine your family spread out in a 5 bedroom, 5 bath home complete with it’s own full size kitchen, laundry room, pool and even hot tub. Yup. All possible when renting a vacation home in Kissimmee.
Allow me to introduce you to Global Resort Homes. A property management company based out of Kissimmee Florida that specializes in communities in and around the Walt Disney World area. With accommodations ranging from 2 bedroom condos to luxury 7 bedroom homes there truly is something to fit everyone’s lifestyle and budget. The best part, when you rent with Global you know you are guaranteed the backing of a professional team, they are there for you should you ever require assistance during your stay. Global Resort Homes is a trusted management company. The assurance that you have access to on site personnel that can help you with any of your needs throughout your Florida stay. Global has been in business since 1993 and is one of the leading and most respected Orlando property management companies in Central Florida. Here are my top five reasons you need to consider renting a vacation homes for your next Vacation;
1. Space. A hotel room might be fun for a few nights, but with a couple of teen girls in our family there is nothing better then each child having their very own room!! With a Global Resort Home a multi-family or multigenerational trip is a breeze. Imagine sharing a seven bedroom house with your sister and her family. Even add in the Grandparents. Not only do you get to share the space and the memories, but you also get to share the cost!
2. Budget Friendly. Rental rates of course vary from house to house; but we did a little digging. You can rent a 5 bedroom 5 bathroom house in the Windsor Hills community, 7 minutes from Disney right now, for only $340.00 per night. Share this cost with a family? That’s only $170.00 per night. Add in the Grandparents and you are talking about a $85.00 per night for something that looks like this!
3. Privacy. Can I put private house, private bathrooms, extra space to spread out and and private POOL and HOT TUB here! Woot! There is something kind of magical about putting the little one’s to bed, cranking up the hot tub and relaxing with a very cold glass of wine, staring at the stars and taking a quiet moment to truly catch up. Sigh.
This picture, courtesy of Global, shows a pool and back yard oasis of a rental home in the area of Solterra. Gorgeous!
4. A full sized kitchen. You may not think having a kitchen on your vacation is required, but it can be a lifesaver! I adore eating out, but there really only so many restaurant and take out meals a girls thighs (or stomach) can take! What’s better then to be able to whip up a quick and nutritious meal for your family. It’s great for you, great for them, and even better for the pocketbook. The bonus; you can save a ton of money on vacation by eating breakfast “at home” before heading out on your daily adventure.
5. Bonus Amenities. Don’t hate me but one of the best things about having an entire home at your disposal vs. a wee hotel room is a laundry room!! When my girls were smaller, one load of laundry mid way through the week meant I only had to pack half the amount of clothing. It’s great to know you can wash, refresh or if you choose just go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes. Can you imagine getting home with a suitcase full of clean clothes instead of dirty? Love.
*Still not convinced; many of the rental homes will also include free Wifi, amazing bonus spaces or theatre rooms, are in areas with large community parks and pools, and can be outfitted with a private BBQ. BBQ’ing in the Florida sunshine while your kiddos splash in your private pool? Priceless.
There’s no doubt about it, when planing that next trip to Florida there are thousands of ways to play and stay. Your perfect stay for that next trip may just be in a vacation rental home.

I’ve never even thought of doing this. We live only 2 hours from Disney and have made all day trips there many times but after a full day & night at Disney you really don’t feel up to the drive. Plus staying there several days or a week allows you to enjoy day trip to see many of the other spectacular attractions Orlando has to offer. This would be great for when my sister and her large family come in from Atlanta. Much nicer than staying in a cramped motel and I like the private pool amenity. Thanks for Sharing. I’ll be checking into it.

All of my siblings and I rent a house when we want to visit our parents in Port Stanley
on Lake Erie.It’s so much cheaper than all of us renting rooms there and we have a lot of fun.

There are so many wonderful hotels I’m a fan of, but with a larger family/teenagers this seems the more logical choice when traveling, to not all be jammed into a small hotel room. When traveling you spend a lot of time crammed together in small spaces already (airplane, etc) so this seems like a breath of fresh air for everyone.

Renting a vacation home is such a good idea as I get fed up with eating out while on holidays–no matter how good the food is. It would be like being at home and not bumping into each other in your hotel room. It is definitely a win win situation.
