With winter officially here, parents are looking for family-friendly activities to help their kids beat the winter blues.
The LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre team knows how important it is for families to spend quality time together, and they have searched the city for the best activities you and your family can enjoy this winter. Excite your children’s imagination as you discover some of Toronto’s most fun and thrilling places to visit as a family.
“We believe it’s important for children to stay active and engaged during the winter months,” says Lara Hannaford, Marketing Manager of LEGOLAND® Discover Centre Toronto. “By visiting our list of unique places to take your family this winter, parents can ensure that their kids won’t fall victim to the restlessness of winter”
Here are LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre’s top places to take your family this winter:
For the child who loves to build:
LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre
Step inside a world of entertainment, colour and creativity! Located in Vaughan, LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre takes indoor fun to a whole new level with its 34,000 sq. ft. facility full of interactive activities for children 3-10 years old. Your children will love being surrounded by LEGO® bricks, a 4D cinema, master building classes, 2 rides and a Toronto MINILAND. Perfect to keep in mind for those freezing days, as the entire attraction is indoors! If your kids love being creative or are a huge fan of LEGO® bricks then a visit to LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre is a definite for the winter.
For the child who loves the arts:
Solar Stage Kid Theatre
For the family with a flair for the dramatic, Solar Stage Kid Theatre will be an unforgettable experience for everyone. New plays pop up throughout the year and are always based on favourites like Robert Munsch or classics like The Little Mermaid. The productions are both adult and kid friendly to ensure that everyone in the family enjoys the performance!
For the child who loves to learn:
The ROM
The Royal Ontario Museum isn’t usually the first place parents think of taking their kids for a day out but it offers the perfect blend of art, history, animals and sculptures. Kids will love the ancient Egypt exhibit where real mummies are on display, as well as the dinosaur fossils and hands-on galleries.
For the child who loves the outdoors:
Riverdale Park
For those who love winter weather, head to Riverdale Park for a fun-filled day of tobogganing and ice skating. When you get tired from all that exercise, head over to Riverdale Farm for a sightseeing adventure. Tour the Farm’s scenic 7.5 acres along pathways through wooded areas before you check out the pig and poultry barn, the driveshed and the old zoo ruins.
