There are moments in life when you have to throw caution to the wind, push your fear down deep, deep, down into your boots, and go for it. I was confronted with one of these moments this past week. We were on an epic spring break. We’d been to a rock concert, toured a potential University with my oldest “baby”, and on this particular day we were wandering the awesomeness that is Universal Studios. Do you have any ideas how many thrill rides there are at Universal Studios Florida? A LOT! Now I like to consider myself a pretty cool Mama. (delusion is part of my charm) So when my dear daughters challenged me to ride the water ride that is Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls , I was all “Sure”. “Let’s go for it”. While I quietly trembled on the inside.
I mean, how bad could it be.
Um. This bad.
That sucker moves fast and furious and it appeared people were getting wet? Really wet. Whatever, it was hot, there’s no way everyone could get that wet. The gauntlet had been thrown down. The girls and SassyHubby were just waiting for me to back down. Clearly that was never going to happen. I threw my hair up into a pony tail, my Kate Spade bag around my hip, and confidently charged on ahead.
Do you know what happens to fools who act that brave?
They scream and laugh until the almost pee their pants, and they get wet. Really wet. Universal Studios Florida, thank you for the giggles and thank you for the “People Dryer”. The best five bucks we spent all day. I left the ride soaking wet with girls laughing hysterically and one very, very wet Hubby, but no regrets. Yup, not a single regret.
