“Oh not right now honey.” “Um, how about we read some books instead!” “Ug, who gave her sparkles to play with??”
Does any of this sound familiar. I can admit it, back in the day when my girls were little, there were “good” days for those messy crafts and “”bad” days. When you’re tired, have a headache, or have friends coming over later for coffee, and the house is “momentarily” clean, you really have to work up to the crafts that include all things glitter, play dough, finger paint and glue! Well at least I had to…. until I stumbled upon the wonder that is Swiffer!
Now thanks to discovering something that is as close to real magic as I have ever seen, when my SassyNephew comes over and wants to get knee deep into the craft box, I’m the first one to announce “Yes”! A big fat “Yes to the Mess”!
Thanks to Swiffer, parents can say “Yes to the Mess!” and embrace life’s little messes because we’re able to get a thorough a clean in minutes. What used to be a chore to do, is now a snap! It’s now easier than ever to make sure our little one’s get messy, explore, create and have a craft time that is …well…messy! Did you know that according to the second annual Swiffer Cleaning Index, while the majority (70%) of parents feel that letting kids make a mess helps encourage their creativity
Many (68%) have said “no” to their kids’ request because of the mess it could make. I get it! Sometimes you don’t feel like you have the time, or the patience for that clean up! I also happen to be part of the generation that believes that messes are a part of a child’s development, it’s how they learn. As a matter of fact, seventy-five percent of Millennial parents think that letting kids make messes encourages their creativity.
Most parents would agree; a mess is a great learning opportunity, in so many ways. Bonus, nearly all parents think that young children learn a lot from cleaning up a mess. The trick is to find a way to get them to help you. Once again,I find myself thankful for my Swiffer! No scrap of paper, no sparkle or glitter shall be left behind when it meets it’s match, the Swiffer! The best part, since my SassyNephew is four, so at this age, cleaning up can be half the fun!
I want to make getting messy, and the cleaning up of course, more fun for you or someone you love! One lucky reader of How To Survive Life In The Suburbs will WIN this sweet little Swiffer Care Package to get you on your way to saying “Yes To The Mess” more often!
