While exploring you will learn some astonishing facts!
*There are 23 horses on the property.
*The show performs for approximately 1,100 people per show, that’s 350, 000 per year
*The show horses bred in a farm in Texas and when they are ready to retire they are returned to the same farm in Texas. These are cherished animals and extremely well cared for their entire lives.
Before you know it, the time will come to answer the call for dinner. You are gallantly seated in your assigned section and prepare yourself to cheer on your Knight for the evening. Our family was assigned the Red Knight, I could tell right away he was ready to impress. He strutted around on his beautiful steed, waving to the men and greeting the women.
Our Serf came around to introduce himself, and let us know he would be taking care of us for the evening, and serving up that four course meal. I’ve never had a serf before, I could get quite used to this!
He quickly brought out our first course which was a piping hot tomato bisque soup and delicious piece of garlic bread. My SweetGirl had a hoot drinking her soup without a spoon!
The second course was enough to feed a small army! Both girls were convinced the piece of oven roasted chicken was actually an entire chicken placed on their plates, I do wish I had caught their reactions when it was presented. Added to this was a piping hot piece of corn on the cob and a perfectly cooked baked potato. Again, no utensils, so this also means no more food pictures. The food was remarkably well done and I am amazed at how quickly and efficiently they could feed such a large crowd!
We washed it all down with a choice of Sprite, Pepsi, Water or drinks from the bar and still managed to save room for an apple pastry. All the while we ate (and licked our fingers) swords clashed in the background as the Knights fought on to save the Princess and bring back peace to the Kingdom. Medieval Times creates a jubilant unique fun filled dinner theatre experience! I’ll admit it, I cheered, I clapped and the entire family was quite happy when the Red Knight rode to victory!
There was an amazing display of horsemen skills, a flying falcon show, jousting, and the most beautiful and well trained horses you have ever seen. It was a great night of family fun and best of all, for two whole hours I was lost in the magic of Medieval Times. I didn’t think about laundry, or grocery’s, carpool drama or to do lists. I simply got carried away with the other revelers, waved my red flag, and cheered right along side my grinning Husband and happy kids. We had a wonderful time and gave our teens one more memory for the books.
Insider Tip: Be sure to check the Medieval Times website for specials! The ticket price is quite often discounted.
