**The following giveaway is open to Canada Only.
Spring has finally arrived and with it comes the dirt, the mud, the mess! Finally the kiddos are getting outside more, playing on the trampoline and volleyball in the backyard, and bringing the lovely outdoors in. I’m all for the rough and tumble play, but I will admit I wish when the little people came to visit, or when they took my pup for a run, they would leave the mess outside! You see; muddy play outside is one of the things my dog loves the best and you have not seen a true mess until you have seen a 170 pound puppy bounding through your house covered in mud! Ugh. Last week our Watson escaped from his “bubble bath” that he clearly was not enjoying, and was gleefully playing a game of “keep away” in the kitchen, front hall and family room. Fur was flying. Teens were screaming. My temper was rising. Mud was everywhere. Deep. Breath.
What helps me stop my “head shaking’ as the Great Dane pup comes inside with mud on his feet for the 20th time in one day, or laugh it off when seven little people troop through my house covered in fresh cut grass, dust and dirt? What helps me say “Go for it” when the girls want to re-enact that scene from the bath that went very very wrong? Swiffer! With the help of Swiffer, parents like me can say “Yes to the Mess!” and embrace life’s little messes because we’re able to get a really thorough clean in minutes. The easy clean-up process allows children the opportunity to make a mess and explore a life rich in creativity. (and I no longer worry when Watson the Blue Great Dane charges through the house leaving massive muddy prints as he goes) Clean up is a snap!
Creating, exploring, making a mess. It’s just part of growing up and part of the experience of learning. It’s an incredible experience to see your child exploring, learning, creating something without any reservations; unfortunately, this is a rare sight for most. According to the second annual Swiffer Cleaning Index, the majority (70 per cent) of parents feel that letting kids make a mess helps encourage their creativity, however many (65 per cent) have said “no” to their kids’ request because of the mess it will make.
The belief that messes are a part of a child’s development is increasing with the generations. Seventy-five per cent of millennials think that letting kids make messes encourages their creativity- this is in comparison to the 62 per cent of Boomer parents.
A mess can be a great learning opportunity, in so many ways. Nearly all parents (97 per cent) agree that young children learn a lot from cleaning up a mess. And there’s no easier way to get your kids involved then with Swiffer!
There are several celebrities who vouch for the creative process. Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar recently hosted a Swiffer event in New York City where she encouraged parents to say “Yes to the Mess” in an effort to foster children’s creativity and independence. As your child grows up you’ll never wonder “what could have been” when it comes to the creativity they express, as long as you’re providing a warm and welcoming environment.

Although my toddler’s messes most likely don’t compare to what I can only imagine your 170 pound Great Dane pup can do I am forever cleaning up hand prints and floor spills, peanut butter on the curtains and those dreaded midnight cheerio crunches! I must admit saying “Yes to the Mess” didn’t come easy for me as a first time Mom but I am happy to report I have let down my walls and now go with the flow. I can see that messes encourage his development and imagination and I count on Swiffer to help make cleaning up a breeze. May you win the next game of kitchen keep away 🙂 Thank you for a great post and giveaway! Good luck all!

The last mess I cleaned up was just this morning, the dirt from my husbands work boots, he insists on putting his shoes on in the kitchen and leaves a pile of dirt and then tracks it out with him, so every morning I have to pull the vacuum out to clean it up, ugh men!!
Katie Amanda says
Since it’s spring, my two dogs are shedding like crazy. I just swept my floor. A swiffer would be really helpful. Thanks!
Gina Ashby says
Muddy paw prints (x3) on the kitchen floor.
Gillian Morgan says
This morning I cleaned up spilled milk and hot oatmeal. It was all over the kitchen.
Elizabeth Matthiesen says
Hmm, the last mess was caused by my son – an adult – cooking! I couldn’t even find a frying pan to make my own supper and I do have 5! Everything was dumped in the sink. The top of the stove was a real mess, the floor had to be mopped, fat had spit everywhere. He hadn’t even managed to put anything into the dishwasher, it was all just stood on top!

My hubby was working in the yard, getting our garden ready today and decided to track in a whack of mud!
