The weather has finally made it’s glorious turn for the better. The sun is out, jackets have been flung to the side, and sweaters discarded in exchange for T-shirts and tank tops. Woo hoo! I’m one girl you will never hear complaining about the heat. Bring it! Along with those hazy summer days come an abundance of fresh veggies, fruits and all manner of lighter food options. Good thing too, um, see above. Tank tops and T-shits require we switch back to that healthier eating plan, stat! One of my favourite ways to kick off my morning routine is a breakfast smoothie. So easy to prepare, healthy and good for you too!
My favourite smoothie recipe is easy to prepare and includes:
- 250 ml almond milk
- 1/2 bannana
- handful of frozen or fresh sliced strawberries
- large handful of frozen or fresh raspberries
- 1 tablespoon of flaxseed
- splash of pomegranate juice
- 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt
Blend all the ingredients together, pour and enjoy.
If I’m channeling my Martha Stewart I get a little bit more creative with my smoothie! I double the greek yogurt, double the fruit and add a wee bit of ice. Why? Well this gives me all kinds of leftovers! Those bright and healthy leftovers are then popped into my popsicle maker and ready and waiting as a frozen treat for later in the day for any hungry family member who may be craving something sweet. So easy! Unless of course you spill them! What stains worse than red raspberries? Not much! Enter Tide Ultra to the rescue!
I now count on this little wonder product to destroy my stains. I trust Tide knowing this product removes over 100 stains in one wash. This time, I may have been a little over zealous and decided to really put this product to the test. I smeared some raspberries down the front of a brand new white T-shirt, crushed in one strawberry, let it set. THEN tried to get out that big bold stain!
Before I started my cleaning process I removed the excess debris from my shirt with a wet cloth. I then blotted the fabric to dilute the stain. Where I needed to, I pre-teated the stain (so everywhere) using Tide Ultra Stain Release and the fun little Zap!Cap. Following those steps I simply threw my shirt in the wash and let Tide go to work. When I was done I was so pleased to see all of my mess was gone! ALL OF IT! I’ll admit it, I was a little shocked. Tide Ultra really did the trick. The berry stains were gone and I was left with a crisp, clean, lovely smelling white shirt. Amazing.
