I’m thrilled to be heading back to Disney for an incredible event. The 2016 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration!
There are fewer things that can throw me into a tizzy then those people who try to pack without a list. Why would one try to do this? Lists. Are. Good. Packing in advance of your event, that’s even smarter! Why? Well, there is nothing more frustrating then going to pack your favourite pair of shorts and finding out they don’t fit. (not that this has ever happened to me. Cough. Cough) So today I bring to you my universal list for Mama’s, Tweens or Teens headed out to an incredible Disney Conference, simply a fabulous Disney trip, a just a quick getaway to the sunny south!
Basics For Mama and Two Teens for a 4 Day Trip!
For your purse and carry on bag:
(this looks like a lot but is quite compact -think travel size whenever possible)
- Passports
- Airline, train or bus ticket and confirmation numbers
- Copy of your itineray
- ID (Drivers License, Birth Certificate if required)
- Credit Cards
- Bank Card
- Travel Insurance
- Copy of all those important cards. Credit, Passport, Health Cards and Travel Insurance
- Cash
- A good book/ magazine
- Phones and chargers (x3 for us)
- Laptop and cords as needed to keep on top of work and school
- Handful of Business cards
- A pen for filling out customs forms
- Gum
- Lifesavers/Breath mints
- Advil for unexpected headaches
- Gravol and Imodium for emergencies
- Purel (and if you’re at all like me, WetOnes to wipe off that airplane tray. Germs be gone!)
- Travel Size Hand Lotion (I like the slim EOS hand lotion, fits in any pocket and meets Airline size requirements)
- Personal prescriptions
- Powerbar (a powerbar or granola bar can save the day when faced with a two hour delay and no snacks in sight!)
Band-aids (because you never know and blisters happen) - Camera and Charger
- Hair Elastics
- Lipgloss or chapstick because dry lips on the plane are risiculously annoying
- If it applies: MAGIC BANDS!
For your suitcase:
- Hair brush
- Flat iron or Curling iron if you need it
- Hair spray and gel (mini size)
- Hair accessories. You can’t have enough elastics
- Travel sized Shampoo and Conditioners
- Make-up
- Make-up remover (We love make-up wipes, also great if you try to go carry on only)
- Moisturizer and face cream (you know, incase you are over 40 and don’t want to look that way)
- Razor
- Deodorant
- Dry Shampoo (my love)
- Toothbrush / toothpaste / floss / wax for those with teens with braces
- Glasses & sunglasses
- Medicines / prescriptions / vitamins and a copy of all your prescriptions incase they are lost
- Feminine products
- Ear plugs to drown out those hotel noises
- Undies / bras
- Socks, if not for outside then for in the hotel
- PJ’s
- Accessories! (necklaces/earrings/bracelets)
For the Pool/Outside:
- Sunscreen (don’t forget sunscreen for your lips!)
- Lotion and Aftersun
- Bathing suits
- Sarong/Cover-up
- Sun hat or Baseball hat
- Flip Flops
- Beach Bag
Resort Wear:
- Pants/Jeans (1 pair)
- Shorts (3)
- T-Shirts and Tops (3)
- Tank Tops (2-3) for fabulous layering
- Sundresses /Maxi Dresses
- Sun Protective shirt, or dress (this one is for me!)
- Sandals
- Comfortable Walking Shoes
- Cute flats
- Capri’s (1)
- Yoga Pants (optional)
- Sweatshirt (it can be cool in the hotel)
- Sweater for cool evenings or restaurants
- Rain Jacket (optional)
Conference Needs:
Now is the time to double check that itinerary and see if you will need any “special” outfits! This year I will need:
- One outfit for Networking Reception and Family Dinner at the Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- Conference Day attire and a change out outfit for dinner at Typhoon Lagoon.
- Casual outfit for Surprise Family Activity at Disney Springs
- Dress for Mother’s Day Breakfast at Epcot.
- **The girls will need two dresses and a nice short outfit for the surprise activity at Disney Springs
I would note, if you are very careful, pack all in one colour scheme and don’t pack too many shoes, you can make all of this fit into a carry on and oversized laptop bag. Wear your sweater on the plane and roll your clothes when you pack them. Just don’t too much shopping while you are there! Going carry-on only saves you money on checked baggage, time at the airport waiting for bags at the luggage carousel, and eliminates the fear that your bag may get lost!
Enjoy the planning, have fun packing and bon voyage!

You do the most detailed lists of anything and everything that I’ve ever seen and I’m someone who likes to be sure I’ve got everything. I’m going to make copies of your lists for the future

Great list. Looks like a lot but many of the items are small (but important), so won’t take up too much space.
