Have a long hot shower and shave those legs.
Do your hair.
Don’t forget to do your make-up.
Put on your best set of bra and panties. Your “power panties”, you know, the one’s that make you feel fabulous.
Have a little snack, shopping on an empty stomach is a very bad idea.
Now that you’re physically and mentally prepared, hit those stores!
Try on ALL the clothes you think might look decent on you.
Twist and turn, evaluting all your wobbly bits in the mirror. Feel disgusted with yourself. Sigh.
Bite your lip. Put your chin up and leave those nasty clothes right there in the change room.
Head to the shoe store.
Buy shoes. Shoes don’t judge.
Shoes always fit.
Thank God for fabulous shoes.

love this! and yes always make sure your make up and hair are on point. i cannot shop otherwise. I have tried and it is not the same. when you feel good, you feel better trying things on and picking things out. you’ll be the total package

Yes! If you feel frumpy, you buy frumpy! You have to at least give yourself a chance 🙂

Shoes never fit. 🙁 I’m a 7 3/4. Foot surgeries and childbirth left my feet unfittable. It stinks. I’d rather try on frumpy dresses under the unflattering light.
Stephanie says
Oh that is very unfair. I hope you have a killer purse collection.

Great post! I laughed. 😀

Ahhh! For a while there I had a really bad back and could only wear what were decidedly Granny shoes. I was a very sad Mama.

My hubby just made me do the whole change room thing and I just about died. Is there a reason the mirrors and lighting are always so unflattering?
Stephanie says
I don’t know!! And is there a reason that when you try on swim suits the change rooms are so dark? Why do I look tan in the swim suit store an then white and lumpy when I get home. It’s just …wrong. LOL

I’m not a big shoe fan, but for me it would be leave the clothes and go buy a purse!!
Stephanie says
I may also have a small purse obsession.
Dandy says

You wouldn’t catch me even giving those shoes a second glance, I would never be able to walk in them 🙂

Those shoes are not for distance that’s for sure! LOL
Judy Cowan says

Stephanie says
Maybe purses are more your thing? They always fit too! HA
Melinda Jana says

Scarves have quickly become one of my favourite things. I hear you 🙂

Awww, this post made me laugh and sigh. My feet are so swollen right now (I’m 353475347 months pregnant) that the only shoes I have that fit are my gardening shoes, and it makes sigh. Nothing like going to church in crocs because church is more important than that pride. Lol
Stephanie says
Oh dear now you made me laugh. I remember those days so well. Hang in there!
