This weekend did not feel like the middle of May. There was SNOW? How can this be? Victoria Day Weekend is just around the corner! You know what that means right? Time to pack the coolers, open the pool, head to the beach, and indulge in some summer time treats! Ahh, I can admit that I can’t wait for those lazy days of summer. I’m looking forward to those days where my toughest decision of the day is to nap or to swim. To eat or to drink!
So this weekend , to try and rush summer to our front door, we spent time cleaning up that back yard, making sure the pool is one step closer to company ready, and of course indulging in some summery snacks.
To prepare for the weekend this crazy family of mine did a not so dry snack run. We crashed the variety store and loaded up on all manner of summer treats. Tops on our list? Red, orange and blue slushies, some Pink Minute Maid Lemonade and purple popsicles. The unofficial colours and tastes of summer! Then we sat outside in the sunshine, pretended we weren’t cold, and indulged like the freezer didn’t work. There were melty popsicles, sugar highs and sticky fingers. Lots of laughs and a plethora of stained white T-shirts. It was more fun than I care to admit. Why did we do this? To put Tide Ultra to the ultimate test of course! Can one detergent really remove the stains of summer all in one wash? There was only one way to find out. I encouraged my sticky fingered crew to do their worst. They flung slushy at each other, wiped their hands on each other. Dripped those popsicles on themselves, and then headed for a hot shower leaving me with the mess! GAH! Gross.
Those shirts were a disaster and I’ll admit it, I was pretty sure there was no way those stains were ever coming out.
Following the summer food fling, I got to work. I removed any chunks of popsicle before we went back in the house. This time, because those stains looked so bad, I did opt to soak the T-shirts for a few minutes in my laundry tub. Then I used my Tide Ultra Stain Release with its Zap!Cap as a pretreatment on the worst of the red and blue spots before I threw all of those (not so) white shirts in the wash using the warm cycle. Nothing fancy. And you know what? Those shirts came out clean!
Seriously crisp, white, couldn’t tell there had been a food fight clean. Amazing. I trust Tide knowing this product removes over 100 stains in one wash, including the foods of summer!

Tide Ultra Stain Release sounds like it upholds its promises, I am surprised that it got all those stains out. I wonder if it also works when the stains have set, like washing the T-shirt the next day.

Looks like they had fun, good to know that Tide got them clean!

Your kids must have had so much fun! It’s not often that moms tell their kids to try to get stains all over their clothes. Tide did a great job.

Ha, I was so expecting this post to be a slushie recipe.
I would wear a t-shirt with that sort of decoration on it.

They almost look like ty-dye shirts. lol. Slushie spillage is quite common here.
