The sun peeks through the wispy clouds of the multi-coloured buildings that dot the mountainside. Immediately we are whisked away, seemingly to another world. That is the magic of the pedestrian village of Mont Tremblant, a very special place in the beautiful Laurentian mountains of Quebec. Here are our top 5 recommended activities when you visit the village of Mont Tremblant during the Summer:
While in the village you must take the time to walk the cobblestone streets that twist through the charming village. Couples stroll hand in hand, dogs are happy on their leashes, watching the people mill about, the children skipping and giggling as they balance, bouncing from stone to stone.
You can walk for hours in this village, darting in and out of shops, it’s just waiting to be discovered. Enjoy the people watching, grab a coffee and a table and soak in the sun and the vibrant sites that surround you.
Find your favourite places to eat. Around every corner, surprises await; from charming bistros, to restaurants and bars, to gift shops and art galleries. We indulged in hand made chocolate, Beavertails, fudge and ice cream galore.
One of our favourite finds? The recently renovated Le P’tit Caribou. With bragging rights including being named best après-ski bar in Eastern North America for over ten years in a row by Ski Canada magazine and fourth top après-ski bar in the world by Forbes magazine it’s atmosphere, terrace and views are sublime. Whether you are looking to have a chill afternoon drink on the terrace or a night of drinks and dancing, le P’tit Caribou bar in Mont Tremblant is the place to be, in winter and summer. Going with a group? Don’t forget to enquire about their special VIP entrance.
The eclectic Gypsy, nestled in the Westin Resort and Spa, serves up Spanish-inspired Mediterranean cuisine in a chic and urban atmosphere. On the menu: tapas, paellas and other specialties. Not to be missed – breakfast!
The other favourite. The Nansen Lounge at the Fairmont Tremblant.
From the moment we sat down with our first drink, until we forced ourselves to leave after the last perfect bite of creme brûlée, every single bite was perfection.
I will dream about the meal and service we had at the Nansen Lounge until I can return again.
Feed your inner adrenaline junkie with a ride on the Luge. The Skyline Luge is a ride on a 3-wheel-cart using a unique braking and steering system that gives the rider full control. Insider Tip: One ride is never enough.
Try your skill at the EuroBungy, Climbing Tower, and AkroPark. Located within steps of each other, these three activities are a perfect way for the younger set to challenge themselves the old fashioned way, with fun, safe physical play.
A ride up the gondola reveals a different world.
Following a breathtaking 15 minute ride you arrive at the top and are met with a quiet beauty. All untouched except perhaps by Bambi. It’s like a postcard.
We loved how easy it was to find our way around the pedestrian village, the family friendly nature, and the charm that exuded from every crack in the cobblestones. The summer activities located within the pedestrian village only begin to scratch the surface of all that is available in Mont Tremblant and are but an appetizer for what lies beyond. From biking to boat rides, hiking to zip lining, helicopter rides to mini-golf, Mont Tremblant offers a plethora of activities to keep you busy from sunup to sundown. It’s not often I leave a place and start plotting when I could possibly return, this place….this place makes you grab your loved one, your calendar and start planing that return trip. There is so much to do and discover in Mont Tremblant. A perfect active, summer getaway.
Disclosure: Special thanks to Tremblant for hosting our family for this stay. As always, all opinions are my own.
