I’ve recently returned from a whirlwild trip to Hawks Cay Resort in the Florida Keys. I enjoyed every moment from the warm welcome at reception, to exploring the many activities available right on site, to the endless dining opportunities. One thing I wasn’t prepared for? The sheer size of the resort and the variety of beautiful accommodations available. Here are a rundown of your many choices when you are ready to explore all that Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key Florida has to offer:
Traditional Hotel Room Style
Resort Rooms & Suites: Resembling the traditional hotel rooms you are probably most used to, these 177 hotel rooms and suites are crafted in Caribbean island decor; furnished with upscale amenities; and set amongst a vivid backdrop of swaying palm trees, historic bridges, and bright blue and green Caribbean waters. Choose from either a single king or two queen beds. Rooms have lots of walking around space, flat screen televisions, mini refrigerators and spacious yet stylish bathrooms.
Insider tip: Are you travelling with a true water lover or celebrating something special? It’s worth considering an upgrade to a Water View Lanai Room. Located at ground level, each of these luxury 396 square foot hotel rooms features an oversized private deck that leads directly to the main Resort Pool and have views that will take your breath away. Some rooms offer food and beverage service to your individual Lanai deck. Paradise.
Villas
When you’re travelling with your entire family or perhaps a group of friends, life can be easier if you have a little more space. What could be sweeter than an entire villa in paradise? Hawks Cay Resort offers villas of various sizes dotted though four distinct villages on the resort just waiting to welcome you and your loved one’s. These villas are privately owned, making each just a little bit unique and just waiting to welcome you home.
Harbor Village: Features 2, 3 and 4 bedroom villas. Tucked along a deep harbor and quiet canal, you will find Harbor Village to be a sea-lover’s haven. Harbor Village winds around a meandering canal, harbor-front boardwalk, has boat dockage (* extra fee), and excellent on-property shore-fishing opportunities.
Insider Tip: Harbor Village is just a short stroll from the main resort’s restaurants, pools and attractions. Villas lining the serene canal offer a bit more solitude, many with an enclosed private patio that includes an in-ground plunge pool.
Marina Village:
Do you dream of spending your evenings lounging on the private balconies and lanais of your own private villa while watching fishing boats return to the docks? Perhaps sipping coffee or wine, dreaming about your next adventure at sea? Then the Marina Village may be the perfect village to call home as you explore all that Hawks Cay Resort has to offer.
Insider Tip: This IS the perfect location if you have a fisherman in the group. Also very close to the waterspouts area and the Dockside Snack Shop, now serving Starbucks coffee, ice cream cones, and sundaes!
Sanctuary Village:
Walking distance from the Coral Cay Club for kids and teens, and the main resort’s restaurants and attractions we find Sanctuary Village. These 3 and 4 bedroom villas feature feature private splash pools, spacious backyards and living areas, open verandas and upscale amenities. The decor has a refined West Indies flare, ample living and dining space and well-appointed furnishings and amenities throughout.
Insider Tip: These villas are located on a secluded gated street yet within walking distance to the main resort activities. If you don’t feel like walking to the main resort pool, be sure to take advantage of the free shuttles continually running around the resort.
Sunset Village:
The villas at Sunset Village are ideal for couples desiring a romantic escape, and small families seeking a fun and relaxing vacation. All units are furnished with a tropical decor and feature private decks and balconies where you can spend your evenings admiring a breathtaking Florida Keys sunset.
