Like many women, I suffer from what can only be described as attacks by the migraine monster. I’ve tried, and continue to try every trick in the book. Fad diets, drugs, try to get enough sleep, hormone control, preventative drugs, control through caffeine use, caffeine avoidance, no alcohol. You get the idea. After almost 15 years of migraines I doubt there’s a trick or product you could throw at me that I hadn’t tried. Until this month that is. As I was cleaning out a bathroom cabinet I came across a “swag bag”. For the non-bloggers out there. This is a bag of goodies I was gifted at an event, stuffed full of goodies. Usually I’m pretty good about sorting through the swag. Thanking companies as I go and providing shout outs to brands for the new stuff that inspires or amazes me. But somehow, I’d missed a bag. In this bag was some fabulous make-up, odds and ends of shampoo, toothpaste, cold medicine I’d never heard of, and this……..
Huh. How had I never given this package a peek. “Stopain Migraine Topical Pain Relieving Gel“? It’s like it was meant for me.
One crappy night, the migraine monster attacked in a big way. I woke up nauseous, holding my head, waffling between the need to cry and throw-up all at the same time. I stumbled to the bathroom desperate to find my migraine meds. I was trying a new one, it was not working as well as the old one. I was discouraged, cranky, frustrated, even a little scared. Perhaps I should be getting Hubby to run me to the hospital? I wasn’t sure how much more pain I could handle. You get the idea. So as rubbed my own head, pulled my hair, rocked back and forth and prayed a little for the meds to kick in and work, I reached for the mystery bottle from the forgotten swag bag. It couldn’t hurt to give it a try right. I took one pump and applied it onto my finger. Then spread onto my forehead. OMG. Instant numbing. Instant relief? Not 100% relief, but enough of a numbing/tingling sensation that I was distracted from the migraine monster so that I could at least get out of the fetal position and make my way off the bathroom floor and back to my bed. This my friends is huge. Why or why had it taken me years to discover this product. Why had I not been using this all along. Bigger question, what will happen when this bottle is empty? Must get more. NOW.
This is NOT a sponsored post. This is just me, a horrible migraine sufferer trying to get the word out to any other woman who gets headaches that they must go find this product and try it. No, it is not a cure for headaches, yet I do believe if it can help me, it can help just about anyone. I hope it helps you or someone you love.
PS If you ever see this is a pharmacy or store in Canada. Please do let me know. I need to stock up!

I suffer migraines as well. Always 3 days before my period, the day of, the day after and twice in between cycles.
I just got over one on Tuesday, I was laid up for 8 hours praying I didn’t puke.. I’d rather be shot then puke with a migraine!
Stephanie says
Sending you hugs because I know that pain. I hope you can find something that helps. It really sounds like you are having too many. It’s so frustrating when a headache steals your day.

The migraine monster certainly visits me, though not as often since I started Botox treatments. I’m still getting about eight or so a month, a personally hate the ones that wake from a sleep. I will have to see if I can find this item, since sometimes my prescription medicine doesn’t work and it is easily maxed (only allowed 2 doses in a 24 period). Thank you for the information.
Stephanie says
Oh Catherine. You sound so much like me. How scary that we are now “only” get 8 or so a month. Gah. Why does that prescription drug have to max out so soon? I’m so happy to hear the Botox is helping! I’ve just started that treatment!
Catherine says
It is sad, but I am trying really hard to look on the positive side. I do hope the Botox treatments help you.

I do think this is only sold south of the border as I know that I have seen it in a lot of places there, but never here.

I need to buy this! I get terrible migraines sometimes but my brother gets them severely. He loses his peripheral vision and can’t stand light or noise. This would be amazing.
