I have a very odd fear. It’s a fear that my house smells like dog. Gross. The problem? My house does smell like dog. My “puppy” is a 200 pound Great Dane named Watson. He bounds through the house with no cares that he’s leaving a trail of muddy paw prints, slobber and puppy smell every where he goes. He’s full of joy, energy and that unmistakable puppy smell. This little love is pretty sure he’s a lap dog and his favourite place is cuddling with his people on the couch. As much as I adore him, I don’t love his doggy smell. We’ve tried doggy baths, vacuuming, scented candles and open windows, but I just know that doggy odour lingers. So when I was asked if I wanted to review an aroma diffuser, I jumped at it!
Meet Julia by EcoBrandsNow.
Julia is an ultrasonic aroma diffuser that emits a generous mist while at the same time optimally distributing essential oils into a room using her unique directional and oscillating swing mode. In other words, Julia makes your house smell less like puppy, more like a spa. Julia is one of the longest running diffusers available, operating 53 hours between fillings when using the interval mode.
- Julia uses ultrasonic technology, blending water and pure essential oil, emitting your favorite fragrance
- Operates in continuous mode, 18 hours on low and 12 hours on high. Or on interval mode (10 minutes on/ 20 minutes off), increasing running time to 53 hours on low and 36 hours on high.
- Choose from 4 vibrant colors, giving you the option that will complement your surrounding decor and reflect your style
- Automatically shuts off when water empties, giving you peace of mind
I set my new friend Julia up on the kitchen counter. There wasn’t much in the way of directions, but it was fairly straight forward. A couple of clicks, add your water and your essential oil of choice. There are three essential oils to choose from:
These oils are 100% Pure Essential Oils blended in the United States. Made from high-quality plant essences. They are pure essential oils, are hand-bottled, and contain no synthetic substances, pesticides, or parabens. I was relieved to know they were safe for use in any aroma diffuser or applicable humidifiers/air cleaners.
I choose to try Refresh. A pure essential oil said to energize your mind and body with a dynamic blend of citrus and herbal scents—grapefruit, rosemary, eucalyptus, peppermint, and lemongrass.
Here are my thoughts:
I liked the contemporary look of Julia, and that this small diffuser fit wonderfully into my decor.
I appreciated that when set to low Julia was able to scent my room for 53 hours without having to be refilled.
Bonus: Julia shuts off when she runs out of water.
The smell was a perfect choice for our home. It reminded me of one of my favourite spas and helped with the eau du dog without being overpowering.
