This blog post should come with a warning. I’m about to introduce you to both a product and a recipe that will change the way you do lunch! Are you ready? Today I’m thrilled to introduce you to the exciting world of Mastro and San Daniele Italian Deli Meats. The are crafted by true Salami and Prosciutto Masters with years of expertise & techniques, and who use authentic Italian ingredients to create outstanding Italian deli meats. This is not an ordinary sandwich meat.
Today I decided to get into the kitchen and create a recipe that included the Mastro Prosciutto Cutto product. The Prosciutto is a robust, full-flavoured Italian-style ham that is not only delicious but extra lean. It is an Old World delicacy and among the finest cooked hams in its class. Every bite is a flavour explosion and takes me right back to my time traveling through Florence Italy.
Made from a traditional Tuscan recipe, this full muscle Ham that is slowly cooked for 48 hours in its own juices and seasoned with imported herbs and spices. This process creates delicate, slightly sweet taste with a pleasing aroma.
Inspired by the aroma and flavour of this Prosciutto I whipped up a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich that will put all other sandwiches to shame. Here’s how to make your very own Baked Brie, Apple & Prosciutto Sandwich:
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf Italian or other crusty bread
- Your favourite brie, thinly sliced
- 1 package Prosciutto Cutto
- 1 large apple, thinly sliced – I prefer Granny Smith
- Butter (brought to room temperature works best)
Preparation:
- Slice thick slices of crusty Italian bread
- Spread each side generously with butter
- Layer with brie, apple, Prosciutto
- Place in hot skillet
- Flip pressing with spatula
- During the last 60 seconds cover with a lid to help melt the cheese
- Enjoy
This recipe is sure to keep the kids running home for lunch, and asking if they can have it for dinner too! Want to give it a try yourself? Follow this link to access for more information about Mastro and San Daniele Italian Deli Meats on
