How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Weekend Ready With Mark’s! ~ $100 GC Giveaway

in Lifestyle on 11/15/17

Disclosure:  The following giveaway is open to Canada only.

The last lingering days of Summer have abandoned us and Fall has finally arrived.  Walks in the woods are so satisfying as the leaves crunch beneath our feet and little ones run and jump ahead to play in the piles of the golden coloured leaves that have drifted down from the sky.  At this time of year, Mother Nature toys with us. The weather is warm and windy one moment, crisp and cold the next.  The only way to survive the strangeness of the season is to rely on a few smart layers including long T-s, and sweaters, stylish bright toques and scarves, and of course, a couple of fabulous jackets to suit both your mood and the temperature.  Goodbye T-shirt season, it’s time to pull out something a little warmer!

For warmer days when the sun is beaming down, nothing makes me happier than to grab my family, a hot thermos of coffee and my giant pup for an adventure in the woods. It’s a great opportunity to connect, get a little exercise and soak up some of those last glorious rays of the season.

I rely on some classic yet creative layers to keep me comfortable yet stylish when out for a walk.  My favourite mid-rise skinny jeans in stone, a long form-fitting T-shirt or swing blouse, some chunky jewelry and of course the comfy Levis Classic Trucker Jacket.  Shown here in a size Large.   It pairs beautifully with grey denim, your favourite khaki pants or even helps you transition your go-to Maxi dress from Summer to Fall.  Selling for $89.50 this Levis Jacket should be a closet essential.

Alexa prefers to wear the Classic Trucker Jacket with her fave Levi’s T and a pair of leggings.  It’s just structured enough to add a little style to her outfit as well as keeping her warm on those breezy autumn days.

When the air is a little cooler the Dever Hayes T-Max HD1 Water Repellent Bomber Jacket is perfect for running around with the kids or to meet a girlfriend for coffee.  The jacket has shaped seams for a flattering fit and the Hyper-Dri® HD1 technology and T-Max® Insulation will help ensure you stay dry and warm.
It’s shorter style is fabulous when you are busy running errands or simply dashing back and forth to the car.  Paired with your fave hat or knit scarf you’re ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at you!
I may not love the cold, but I do love sweater weather!  You have to adore an excuse to get bundled up in a great jacket and scarf, or wrap and fuzzy toque and head out for a great day.  It’s even better if you have an excuse to invest in some new outdoor wear!  Mark’s has an astounding collection of outwear to choose from.  Next time you are searching for a new jacket, scarf, hat or wrap for yourself or the perfect Christmas gift for someone you love be sure to check out the incredible collection available at Mark’s!

Here’s one more reason for you to go shopping!  I’ve teamed up with the generous people of Mark’s, and one lucky reader of How To Survive Life In The Suburbs will WIN a $100 Gift Card to Mark’s!  Woo Hoo!  To enter simply pop over to the site and tell me, if you won, what fabulous item you would buy to help keep you warm this winter?  Then use the Rafflecopter form below to earn those extra entries.

This giveaway is open to Canadians only, excluding Quebec, and to all those who have reached the age of majority in their Province. Closes December 1, 2017.  Prize fulfillment is the responsibility of Mark’s. This giveaway is not associated with Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, or Twitter.
Disclosure: I’ve partnered with Mark’s.  As always all opinions reflected in this blog are my own

If Won the $100 gift card to#Marks I would put it toward the purchase of the FARWEST Quilted Down Coat in the Dark Burgundy color. It is super gorgeous and will be super warm for the yucky winter weather that is coming soon.
To have a touch of fun with my outfit, I would also buy the $4.99 Denver Hayes Critter Crew Socks with the Owl pattern. They are just too cute.

If I won…I would probably let my wife shop. I’m a simple guy that is good to go in jeans and a t-shirt…maybe throw on a denim jacket if it gets a bit cold. She however loves to vanish into 30 feet of clothing as the slightest chill.

I would definitely put this gift card towards the Denver Hayes Women’s Bridgette HD2 winter boots! Fashionable and functional. Since becoming a mom my old boots don’t fit anymore and these would be a definite upgrade!

I am a Canadian who doesn’t own a pair of winter boots. So that’s what I’d buy.
