How to Survive Life in the Suburbs

Indigo Introduces Emile Henry Cookware ~ $300 Giveaway

in Lifestyle on 12/07/17

Do you know what makes time spent in the kitchen ever so much better?  Beautiful cookware.  Somehow it’s easier to be inspired to whip up something fabulous when you have the most gorgeous of pots and utensils to prepare with.  So when Indigo reached out to me to see if I might be interested in trying out an Emile Henry stewpot dish, I was happy to oblige.

Handcrafted in France since the 1800’s, Emile Henry balances its innovation in creating ceramic cookware with its values for traditional cooking. This meticulously designed line of the finest quality ceramic ovenware, gourmet cooking products, and bakeware will give chefs and bakers a new and authentic kitchen experience ahead of the holiday season and just might get me to try out some new recipes in the New Year!

All Emile Henry products are made using the mineral-rich clay of Burgundy known for its superior heat diffusion and retention. Emile Henry products are remarkable as they are all direct freezer-to-oven and dishwasher safe, are chip, crack and scratch resistant and will never fade.  They retain their beautiful colour.   If you find yourself searching for the perfect gift for the foodie or chef in your family, look no further than this line of Emile Henry products, certain to delight on Christmas morning.  Some of my favourites from this almost too pretty to cook in line of cookwware include;

The Spoon Rest Simple and clean and the perfect way to spare your counter from splatters and spots.

The Ultime Individual Baker  Just the right size to get started on some lemon loaves for Christmas.
The Mortar & Pestle No longer will I ruin my cutting board trying to mash garlic and fresh herbs! The pretty mortar and pestle lets you prepare sauces and dips, quickly and easily and the inside has been glazed so the ingredients don’t slip about, and it won’t stain or retain odours.
You might want a couple of 2L Ultime Square Baker dishes.  Available in a wide variety of colours and so versatile.
Don’t forget to pick up a Deep Flan Dish.  Simply perfect for those holiday pies.  Worthy of note, the high sides and a flat bottom make for easy cleaning.
A classic Pitcher is always a good idea.The elegant shape and generous handle of this pitcher makes it the centerpiece of any setting.
Or my personal favourites, the stewpots dishes.  Available in both round and oval. This beautiful stewpot lets you cook dishes evenly and slowly for maximum flavour.  It’s designed for use on all types of stove tops, is easy to clean and won’t lose its colour.
Can you fall in love with a stewpot?  I think you can.  I received the 6.7L Stewpot in burgundy and fell instantly in love.  Yes, with a stewpot.  I can’t wait to create all manner of soups, stews, maybe even a pot roast?  I know that even if my next dinner is a flop at least it will look beautiful!
 If you are looking for more holiday inspiration find the latest recipes with Indigo’s top cookbooks like 3 times a day by Marilou, The Simple Bites Kitchen, The Redpath Canadain Bake Book, Lynn Crawford’s Farm to Chef and more.
Insider Tip:  Don’t forget when you are purchasing your cookware from Indigo you can collect those valuable Plum Points.
 Any cook or aspiring chef would be thrilled to find a Handcrafted French Emile Henry dish under their tree and a cookbook to get them started.  Be sure to check out all of Indigos offerings today!
Indigo offers 229 Emile Henry items online including beautiful mixing bowls, bright loaf pans, the gorgeous stewpots featured here and dinner plates.  Prices range from $20.00 – $285.00.

      That stew pot looks like it would be the perfect size for my wife and I. We do a lot of small stews & roasts but the current pot we use is on it’s last legs and burns the contents very easy if not stirred regularly.
