There is something strange happening in the suburbs, this year for the first time, in a very long time we are not going away for March Break. The stars just didn’t aline for us. So to torture myself a little bit and make sure all of you are still in the know, I bring to you the very best 7 Super Last Minute Trip Ideas For March Break!
- There is still time to check out some of my favourite sites for a truly last minute escape to the beach. Departures on a Sunday or Monday can be found to Cuba, Jamacia, Mexico and beyond. If you aren’t picky about your destination the world is your oyster. Start your search and then pack your bags. Some of the sites you must click through include Sunwing.ca, AirCanada.com, Airtransat.com, TripCentral.ca, and RedTag.ca Each is updated regularly with the best of the best last-minute beach getaways. Happy planning!
- A little closer to home. Don’t forget about the beauty of Muskoka. You can still have an incredible vacation exploring all that this gorgeous area has to offer. Take your pick of stunning hotels, quiet little inns or a private cottage and get your nature on. From snow-shoeing to cross-country skiing, skating to dog-sledding there’s something for everyone.
- Niagara Falls. Even if you’ve experienced Niagara Falls in the summer, it’s a completely different beast in the winter. Don’t miss the frozen falls and when you need to warm up, take a short drive to the butterfly conservatory. “Located on the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, visitors to the Butterfly Conservatory are transported to a tropical paradise full of lush vegetation, trickling waterfalls and thousands of vibrantly coloured butterflies. - Toronto. You can get lost in Toronto for days. The restaurants, the shopping, The CN Tower, the theatre, Ripley’s Aquarium. The list is endless. Here are our best tips on how to make the most of 72 hours in the city.
- Blue Mountain. Not just for skiers! There are tube slides, the famous ridge runner, snowshoeing and even swimming under the stars in the cold winter air.
- Mont Tremblant. Perhaps the most charming little village you will ever find outside of Europe. Spend your days’ skiing, sliding, skating or at the spa, and your nights touring the village. Make sure to save time to check out the plethora of incredible restaurants and special events going on just for March Break! Picture courtesy of tremblant.ca
- Try a staycation! Rent a family suite in a local hotel or set up a fantastic family evening at home and make plans to explore your very own backyard. Take in a movie at the theatre, tackle that 1000 piece puzzle, find your closest Sugar Shack, challenge the family to discover the best bakery in town, order dinner from the newest restaurant in the city or take a cooking class.
No matter what you choose to do this March Break, I hope you find your smile, find your joy and make some memories with the ones you love most. Happy holidays!

Whenever I went on vacation I always had to go during March break because I always traveled with my mother who was a teacher but it was always a blast no matter where we went. I know the break is an awesome time to go away.
