I am a girl.
A romantic, spoiled, sometimes whiny girl. I can own that. Hangry happens.
I am also strong-willed, independent, courageous and decisive.
What, I can’t be both?
Here’s the kicker…
When I hit my PMS, having a bad day, the world has me down, I feel lonely in a house full of people, and ugly despite new hair, new clothes, and new mani-pedi…. (even though LOGICALLY everything is just fine)
It’s time for you to step up, take the bull by the horns, bite the bullet. Be my man because you have a superpower you may not be aware of….it’s a power to HELP!!
Here it is. Your actions can make or break my day.
Don’t ask me what’s wrong because I don’t freaking know.
Don’t ask if I’m PMSing. That will just make it uglier.
Don’t laugh when I cry my eyes out at the latest American Express Commercial. Hand me a Kleenex.
Just hold me.
Hug me.
Bring me chocolate or flowers for no reason.
Rub my back as you walk by.
Tell me a dumb joke.
Empty the dishwasher or vacuum the floor, without me nagging for help, I hate those jobs.
Pick up dinner on the way home from work.
Tell me you love me, love our life, our kids, our world. I know you do, just tell me again.
Tell me everything is going to be all right.
Send me a sweet text or e-mail! You won’t belive the power of that text.
Tap into your “superpower”…figure out what I need, because honest to God I don’t and insider tip, I’m one burnt casserole away from a nuclear meltdown.
I just need you to look into my soul and become…..Senor Mind Reader.
Sigh.
Thanks, Hun.

Yes to all of this, but especially the chocolate (or sour candy) either one is good to me! And a back-rub too! Or watch the kids while I soak in a hot bath with a good book.
