My Husband knows how to make me happy. He has a variety of goofy little tricks to put a smile on my face, but one thing he knows scores big points? Arriving home after a long day of work with two cups of perfectly brewed coffee. Instant happiness. Gosh, I big puffy heart him.
Coffee. All manner of coffee makes me happy. Americanos, Lattes, Cappuccinos, Espresso, yes please! So when I was asked if I wanted to review and then GIVE AWAY a Breville Bambino Plus Espresso I jumped, yes, jumped at the chance. How could I not want the opportunity to see if everything I’ve heard is true. Could the Breville Bambino Plus truly allow you to make cafe quality coffee at home? Here’s what I quickly discovered. Friends, it’s true. Read on to learn all about this remarapkle machine that will have you reaching for your coffee cup instead of your wallet and then enter for a chance to win one of these beauties of your very own!
What do you need to know about this small but mighty machine? It delivers barista-quality performance using a 54mm portafilter with 19 grams for full flavor and automatic milk texturing. The Bambino Plus also has a 3 second heat up time and precise espresso extraction meaning you go from bean to cup, faster than ever before. Helping you to brew a cup just like at your local café.
Sounds good, but what does al that mean? After just a little bit of research, a little practice and some help from Breville, I have some tips for you on how to make the perfect espresso and/or specialty cup of coffee without every leaving your house. First up – decide what kind of barista you are. I am not very experienced but quickly learned the Bambino Plus is the perfect fit for me. It’s straight forward while allowing me just the right amount of flexibility.
Some expresso makers can be quite intimidating. I promise, after a quick read of the manual you will quickly realize, all you really need to remember to master the making of espresso is simply: tamp, trim, and press. Easy! We’ve got this.
Now just for you, here are a few bonus hints:
Step 1: Know that not all coffee beans are created equal. Choose quality coffee beans/grinds for a better cup of coffee.
Step 2: Freshness is key. Try to use your beans 10-30 days after roasting. Buy coffee that has a “roasted on date” on the bag and use it as a guide to freshness. Grind your own beans when you can, and be sure to store those beans in an airtight container. Tip: Coffee grounds should also be stored in an airtight container.
Step 3: When possible use filtered water. A great cup of coffee has to start with a great tasting water.
Step 4: Measure carefully. Both your coffee grinds, your water and your milk!
Now that you know everything you need to make a great cup of joe, here’s why you need to get yourself a Breville Bambino Plus.
First impressions; this little machine is pretty and compact. It easily fits not only into my decor but onto my counter top, which in all honesty is not very big. I fond the Bambino quick to unbox and a snap to set up. Big bonus points for that!
Other reasons to consider the Breville Bambino Plus, it boasts all these fun features:
– 3 second heat up time
– You can use with your own grind fresh coffee or purchase your own pre-ground
– It allows for precise water temperature and pressure
– It has automatic micro-foam milk texturing for a café quality finish
-You can choose the temperature of your milk
After a quick (okay, not that quick, I did have to read through the instructions a couple of times) I was ready to take the Bambino Plus for a test drive. This is the video from my very first try. Very first! Bare with me, apparently I amaze myself quite easily!
In all honesty, the learning curve on this fabulous little machine is short. It’s easy to learn and if you run into difficulties the instruction manual comes with a fantastic trouble shooting guide to help with any little problem you may encounter. I will admit I wasn’t getting my milk quite warm enough for my liking. It was an easy fix, I was just using too much! Once I cut back on the amount of milk I was dancing in the kitchen and declaring myself a Barista.
Yes, my friends, the Breville Bambino has made me a latte wizard. I was buzzing all around my kitchen (err possibly because I’d had sooooo many amazing lattes) and now I can’t stop, won’t stop, making myself and anyone who asks a better cup of coffee. Thank you Breville for bringing the Bambino Plus into my life!
The Breville Bambino Plus is a compact espresso machine that takes the guess work out of creating a fabulous expresso so you can build your favourite Lattes, Cappicionos and Americanos. This powerful little machine doesn’t provides café quality results without the powerful price tag.
