It should have been a lovely afternoon. Hubby and I had gone out for a sorta/kinda romantic brunch for two. We were well caffeinated, well prepared, we knew what we wanted. We were full on adulting and shopping for a new mattress. Our first stop, at a specialty mattress store, we were met with an over the top pushy saleslady who followed us from bed to bed insisting we try every mattress in the place. Ugh, personal space please. The second store took us from bad to worse. I was confused, and overwhelmed. I knew buying a new bed wouldn’t be exciting, but I didn’t think it would leave me feeling drained and a wee bit angry. Gah. We left frustrated and without buying a thing. What a charming way to spend a day.
Then, perhaps by divine intervention, an e-mail in my inbox. Would I be interested in trying a new way to shop for mattresses? Could we chat about a Bruswick Mattress? Oh yes, yes we could. This my friends is how I went from harried and haggard to happy with my brand new Brunswick mattress.
Here’s what you need to know:
Brunswick is exclusively sold online, made to order, and arrives compressed in a box at customers’ doors about a week after ordering. Mattress shoppers can make informed decisions by browsing detailed photos as well as verified customer reviews, and by experiencing a 120-night in-home trial with free returns. No trips to the store, no awkward bed testing, no sales pressure.
Made in Canada
Brunswick is designed, manufactured, and assembled in Canada. The head offices are in Edmonton, Alberta, and factories are in Mississauga, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta. Mattresses ship from Mississauga and Calgary.
Shipped in a Box
Brunswick mattresses are made only after you place your order. Not only does this save a lot of money on overhead, keeping costs low, it also means they’ll expand to full shape much faster. You can use the Brunswick mattress the night you receive it. In the meantime, the box is much easier to navigate through your home compared to a fully expanded mattress, especially around L-shaped, spiral, or narrow staircases.
Once a Brunswick mattress is fully assembled, it is compressed, vacuum sealed in recyclable plastic, rolled, and shipped in a box through FedEx. Shipping is free for 99% of Canadians, with a delivery fee only to remote areas. You don’t even need to be at home to accept your shipment if you select that option at checkout.
Returns:
Customers can return the mattress for any reason between nights 30 and 120 for a full refund.
So what this bed experience really like? Our bed was ordered and arrived at our doorstep in a matter of days. Thankfully I live in a house with a couple of strong kiddos, so getting our king size mattress in the house and up the stairs was no problem at all. So much easier than a traditional mattress. We removed the old (lumpy) mattress and placed the newly unboxed wonder on-top of our existing boxspring. We then followed the straight forward instructions to unroll, then carefully released the mattress from it’s plastic cocoon. Here’s a short video showing the process, feel free to giggle at me as I marvel at the mattress unfurling. I was kind of awestruck that an honest to goodness plush mattress had just been born from that box!
The literature states that it can take 48 hours for the mattress to expand completely so we opted to not sleep on it until the allotted time had past. (Although you can sleep on it right away) Not only did we want to let it expand, but I also found it had a sort of new car smell – I’m happy to report that smell dissipated as time past.
Fun fact: Take a peek at the covering of the mattress in the photo above. Brunswick is one of the only mattresses that uses hemp as a cover material. Yes, hemp! The hemp fibres are woven along with polyester and spandex to increase durability and add an eco-friendly element. Hemp is said to have three times the tensile strength of cotton, making it immediately more durable and resilient. Brilliant.
In no time at all we were fully loaded with new sheets, new pillows, our new Brunswick mattress, and new hope for a better nights sleep. So what was the verdict?
As with any new mattress it can take a couple of nights to get used to. Well, for the average person anyway. After night number two my Hubby declared he had the best night of sleep in months! Remarkable. I needed a little longer to make up my mind, so was happy to know that Brunswick has a solid in-home trail policy. The Brunswick’s in-home trial allows you have the opportunity to try your new bed comfortably in your home for 120-nights! If you don’t love it, you can return it for a full refund. It’s as simple as that.
I’m happy to report that after only a few days I am one very satisfied sleeper. The classic mattress that I remember, the sleep that I’ve been missing is back. I find the mattress to be firm, offering great support for my finicky back, my Husband reports he doesn’t feel me adjusting pillows or moving about in the night, and I’m not jostled when he hops out of bed before me in the morning. Fabulous. If you are looking for a new mattress at an amazing price point, and if you need to simply sleep better, now’s the time to consider a GoodMorning.com mattress.

I really enjoy a new mattress, gives the feeling of comfort and cleanliness too. I love the fact that they use hemp in the covers of these mattresses, a great way to strengthen the fabric and eco-friendly too.

I have to say that after watching the video, I’m really impressed how fast the mattress expands! I thought it would take much longer.

How interesting that it takes 48 hours to expand. Definitely worth a try.

Our last mattress scraped the ceiling trying to get it up the stairs. These are so much easier to get into smaller spaces.
