Light lavender scent, suitable for sensitive skin, and moisturizes like nothing else. This is a BIG NEW product alert!
Bio-Oil – you may know them as the brand with the best-selling stretch mark and scar treatment oil. That’s how I’ve known them for years. Used in my house for everything from stretch marks, to improving small scars, Bio-Oil is a staple in our bathroom vanity. Now this iconic brand has just announced the launch of Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel, a truly unique gel-to-oil formulation for dry skin. This marks the brand’s second and only new product in over 30 years and it is a show stopper.
As someone who travels a lot, hates the winter for what it does to my skin, and admittedly washes my hands a little too often, I suffer with embarrassingly dry skin. Not just on my hands but on my legs too. Sigh. It doesn’t seem to matter how much water I drink, how healthy my diet is, I still need the help of a moisturizer to help keep my skin looking it’s best. So when asked if I wanted to try Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel I decided to give it a try. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.
With billions of dry skin sufferers around the world, the makers of Bio-Oil had set out to develop a better solution to the creams, lotions and body butters that are commonly used to treat dry skin. What they’ve done is successfully create a product that you only have to use a tiny bit of to see great big results.
Here’s what I found: As I opened the perfectly sealed white tub, a pale pink gel was revealed, and it was quite unique to any other moisturizer I’ve seen before. A little dab was really all that was needed for my first application of this product. Immediately the skin on my hands felt softer, less irritated. The gel quickly and easily absorbed into my skin and that soft, moisturized feeling lasted even through hand washing. After trying Bio-Oil for two weeks I’ve now know:
- the gel texture glides on and is easily absorbed
- a little goes a long way
- The unique texture of this product sets it apart form other more traditional moisturizing products such as creams and lotions
- my skin is more soft and supple than ever, even radiant
How does Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel differ from other dry skin products?
Dry skin creams, lotions and body butters are made from water, which evaporates when coming into contact with skin and is of no benefit to dry skin. Bio-Oil has pioneered a way to replace this water with oil, thereby creating a product that is 100% active. It’s skin care, but smarter!
Where can you apply Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel?
Anywhere you have dry skin! I’ve tried this product on my hands, feet, elbows, arms and legs, and even my face. It’s conveniently available in a variety of sizes so that you can take it with you and keep it at home. Bio-Oil Gel Dry Skin Gel is multi-purpose and can be used as a facial moisturizer or applied specifically on areas that require more hydration. It’s a great product to travel with, especially when flying is so dehydrating to our skin.
Did you know?
- Most dry skin products are made from 70% water, which evaporates when coming in contact with skin.
- The NEW Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel contains only 3% water, allowing the active ingredients to dominate the formula.
- Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel is made with 50% oil, therefore substantially less is needed to cover an area of the body. A little truly goes a long way!
- 50% of the Dry Skin Gel formation is actually made up the original Bio-Oil Skin Care Oil, known for it’s fast absorption and hydration.
Suggested retail price for the Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel is $8.99 (50ml), $14.99 (100ml), $24.99 (200ml).

I will call my Mother on Mother’s Day, we do not live in the same province.
For me, I will be planting my spring veggies like peas and lettuce in my garden and trimming the raspberry canes. If the wind is low we will bonfire later in the day. My step son might come and spend the day with us as well, and we can plan what herbs he wants for his balcony planter. My son will most likely bring me a coffee in the garden and when my husband gets home, he always gives me a card, even though we have no children together.
