This, this could get embarrassing. What’s on my bedside table?
An iPhone charger.
Hand cream.
My jewelry box.
More prescriptions than I care to admit to. (Related: migraines suck)
A large collection of hair elastics.
A water glass, half empty.
And finally, back in the rotation, a stack of books.
It’s time to take back my “me time”. Remember how to turn off the outside world and unwind at the end of the day. I’m restocking on great reads and getting back to one thing I really do love to do. Reading. The problem; I’ve gotten into the horrible habit of falling into bed at 11:30 at night, turning on the late late news for a few minutes, checking those e-mails and tweets one more time, and then desperately trying to fall asleep. Then I wonder why I can’t turn off my brain? Duh. Moron.
How can I expect to change my story if I don’t change my habit. I’m moving that charger away from the bedside table and adding more novels. Juicy, silly, beachy style bedtime stories to help me unplug in a different kind of way. Now my bedside table includes the long over due reads of:
*The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins
*The Children by Ann Leary
*Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler
*Everyone Brave Is Forgiven by Chris Cleave
*The Regulars by Georgia Clark
*The Girls by Emma Cline
New habits, new routines are always a good idea. Right?
So fess up, what’s on your bedside table, and what are you reading next?

I usually have my CPAP machine and my iPhone (for the alarm), nothing much else but that – except a good amount of dust!

I have so much stuff on my headboard like medication, chap stick, eye drops, Kleenex, lotion and even more. I also keep my computer close because it holds my books and everything else

With the grandkids staying for awhile the only thing on my night table is Dr.Suess
